Will Trump block article 5 to maintain the relationship to Russia..?

His deference to Russia and mind-boggling decisions, such as inviting Russia to join a "peace" council, makes me wonder about that as well. There is nothing in his treatment of Putin that would give me confidence he has anyone's back regarding Russia. My guess is he would make excuses for why other countries provoked Russia.
It's obvious to me that Trump, like many other
Presidents in the past, hopes to split China and Russia.
If China invaded Taiwan, one of the worst case scenarios would be if Russia joined China against the U.S. I thought this was obvious to everyone, but I guess not.

Trump wisely considers China a much bigger threat than Russia.

Trump probably doesn't trust Putin any more than you or I do, however, you keep your friends close, your enemies closer.

I think I've found the primary issue, 56% of white liberal women:

Hell of a thing to say about someone you don’t even know who left college to help run the family farm and ranch after her father was killed when he basically sank and suffocated in a grain bin. She saved the family farm and ranch while having to borrow money to pay ridiculous inheritance taxes (death taxes). Death taxes are what motivated her to lobby against such stupid taxes and eventually run for office after encouragement from several people. She excelled in school and received awards from several organizations as a youth. I can only speculate that I would have had a tough time staying in college had my father died while I was away, leaving my mother and siblings a mess.

Quit being an imbecile.
Here's the true story about how estate taxes nearly ruined the poor Arnold farm family when Kristi Noem's dad died in an accident. She broadcast a whole lot of sensational bullshit and half truths to generate sympathy votes. The Arnold family did pay a lot of estate taxes ... because the estate was worth a lot. Quite a lot! Also her father knowingly chose the most expensive way to divide his estate. Kristi claimed her dad never signed the will but that was also BS. Her brothers and mom didn't complain.

Kristi had to drop out of college in March 1994 and rush home to take care of the farm when her dad died. But her two brothers were already taking care of the farm. Maybe that's why dad left the bulk of the estate to them and her mom. One brother was with her dad when he suffocated in the grain bin. And Kristi had a baby the next month so unlikely she would have finished the semester at SD State anyway (if she actually was enrolled). She dropped out when her dad died at the end of her fourth year but somehow was never able to finish up what she needed for a diploma in spite of various attempts at other institutions. Not until she was able to garner enough "intern" credits from U of SD while sitting in Congress.

Yeah I know, I'm such a meany for picking on poor oppressed Kristi and her impoverished farmer family. Pffft. Her dad's death was a terrible tragedy. The bigger tragedy was Kristi milking it with half-truths and lies to get votes.

Everyone who’s theoretically on our side keep it up and we’ll end up with another trifecta of Garland, Wray and Mayorkas

I continue to be very cautiously hopeful that Bari Weiss is making some incremental progress in dragging CBS News back toward the middle of the political spectrum. This is the most dispassionate review of the shooting of Pretti that I have yet read. One would hope the various spokespeople for the administration would review the emerging facts as well, and perhaps apply a lesson learned or two.

I have to say that report is probably the least biased and most fact based report I can recall reading from CBS is a very, very long time..

The best advice I could give the administration when things like this occur is the same advice every attorney gives every CHL holder... SHUT UP...

Even the people on the scene dont really have a full grasp of what has happened and why at the time a shooting occurs.. they only have their own perspective from their own vantage point.. and post shooting will be dealing with adrenaline, mental stress, and a host of other physical, emotional, and mental challenges...

SHUT UP..

Once things calm down... and once you have had time to think, gather information, and work through the incident... then, and only then.. and only after speaking with your attorney do you speak..

All Miller, Levitt, Noem, Holman, Trump, and/or anyone else questioned about the shooting needed to say during the first 48 hours after the incident was "It is always terrible when law enforcement has to deal with a deadly force situation.. we are currently investigating and intend on getting a full understanding of what happened and why it happened.. as we are all well aware, a cell phone video feed alone never tells the entire story.. once we have more information and a better understanding of what has happened we will make a formal statement"...

then mic drop, and walk away...

Its a little like the purge that Stalin made just prior to World War 2. Turned out to not be a great move for the Soviet Union when operation Barbarossa commenced.
I wonder if China purging experienced generals could indicate that they aren’t seriously preparing for a hot war (invading Taiwan)?

Pure conjecture, but it could also be that Xi did not like what they had to say about his invasion plans.

Really? That "plan" is WAY too complex for a guy that can't think beyond the moment.

Thoughts on the about half of the last 100 pages here:

  1. I can see that you're very committed to your current level of understanding.
  2. I'm jealous of people that haven't visited this thread.
  3. Thank you for helping me, it was like doing it myself only harder.
  4. Your food for thought leaves everyone still hungry.
  5. Nothing lights up a forum like your absence.
  6. I wish I didn't have common sense, you seem so happy.
  7. It's impossible to underestimate you.
  8. You've mastered the tone of authority without the inconvenience of depth.
  9. I refuse to engage in a battle of wits with an unarmed man.
  10. I now understand why instructions have pictures.
  11. It's interesting what you've done with your education.
  12. As an outsider, what are your views on intelligence?
  13. We can explain it to you, but we can't understand it for you.
  14. Don't let people's knowledge get in the way of your confidence!
  15. You absolutely light up every room you walk out of.

Seriously, we need help. @mdwest @Red Leg @VertigoBE @Altitude sickness and others, can you please rescue this thread from the clutches of drunk raccoons?
Reminds me of a country western song, "How Can I Miss You If You Won't Leave"
"You know I'd miss you, I'd probly miss you baby, I'd LIKE to miss you, but you just won't leeeaaavve"

The way that Will was set up was with an AB trust in order to take advantage the martial deduction to minimize Federal Estate Tax. Today that might not be necessary as the deduction is 15 Million per person. It was not the most expensive. The most expensive would have been to leave the entire estate to the spouse and lose the benefit of the martial deduction split. Once again you are wrong.

I’ll have to review the trade deal tomorrow it’s too snowy here to do anything of value so gary who logs for me and myself have been testing the whiskeys in my bar to insure they haven’t spoiled due to cold temperatures.
