Seriously???

We don't care if Europeans are upset or speak 'THEIR' truth.

"piss poor and unsuccessful", good for Canada and all non-US citizens then. HipHip Hooray for you. I 'a US Citizen' see it exactly 180degrees from how you see it. Just because you are looking at this exact moment in time and unable to see what change is being made long time (or perhaps ignoring it). ???

I truly don't care if anybody 'likes' us, or if they feel bad. We are tired of carrying the world, we'll take care of our hemisphere and be happy to help those that want to pitch in.

It's like the parents that tell their 30 year old that they have to pay for their own car insurance and no longer have access to the 'family' credit cards. It's time to grow up and stand on your own feet (that is meant toward Canada, Europe ... )

Just the way I feel.

Most current polls, and recent election results, seem to suggest Trump is not well liked on the home front either.

I guess we will see in November.

and I ask you.. why do you think any American cares about your opinion?
It doesn't matter if Americans care about my opinion. But we know that Americans are not fond of Trump anymore either.

Now I know some Americans think that they are alone in the world, or own the world or some such, but until the official title of this thread gets changed to "MAGA circle jerk-- Americans only" I will continue to post here from time to time.

Or did I miss the declaration that the politics thread or the whole site is "Americans only."?

Of course if arguments are only measured by the national origin of the person making them, well I guess that is a different kind of stupid.

Heard an interesting idea today over a morning crib game with the night watchman to the wharf.

“if immigrants were prohibited from voting for a period of 5-10 years after they received there citizenship and we called it a learning period to allow them to adjust to the North American societal system governments would likely be a lot more disconcerting about who they let into our country”

That from a man who himself is a Lebanese immigrant. He immigrated prior to the outbreak of the Lebanese civil war.
But don't the US and Canada already do that? You have to be a lawful resident of the United States for what, 5 years before you can apply? It is just a hair shorter for Canada is it not? Kind of like graduated drivers licenses.

I agree. The general population in the USA are resisting the democratic socialist government system of the EU and (now) Canada that picks winners and losers and taxes everyone else into slavery.

Can’t stand the way Trump conducts business but I simply don’t care how other countries do business. Unless their business conflicts with our business, then I start to care. A little.
I just found this on Facebook, dont know if the numbers are true, but if they are correct it would seem to be at least some US citizens that are not so much richer or happier the average citizen of EU or Canada.

Thats a curious thought...

My guess is a lot of it depends on the culture / country they came from to begin with..

For example.. Cubans in South Florida tend to be more conservative than liberal both fiscally and socially than say Somalis in Minnesota.. even after decades of integration..

You’ve got to be shitting me! Those sources! HFS! What a riot! Every source listed is anti-American/communist/socialist! Jeez!

Which polls?

and with what frequency have those polls been accurate over the last 4 election cycles?

Now youre resorting to ridiculousness.. .

Very few people participating in this thread would be considered MAGA.. if anything they represent a distinct minority..

And no one asked you not to participate...

And no one said Americans only..

You clearly have strong opinions that MANY (not just the MAGA types) disagree with... what has been asked of you is why you think anyone cares about those opinions? I'd especially be interested to know when those opinions arent backed up by facts.. if anything many of those opinions are refuted by facts..

If thats not ridiculous propaganda, and you dont see that readily.. I dont know what to think of you honestly..

No one in the US thinks the US healthcare system is #1... the left wants socialized healthcare and they dont have it.. and the right wants to be rid of the outrageous costs associated with Obamacare / ACA.. no one is satisfied with the US healthcare system..

That said.. what is exactly the rating criteria? "Last among wealthy nations"... as compared/contrasted to what standard?

Education? No one in the US thinks the US education system is #1.. the US, both left and right, agree that the education system has been in decline for decades.. the right will lay the blame at the foot of Jimmy Carter and the US Department of Education.. which is exactly why Trump is dismantling it.. the left will blame a lack of funding for teachers and school systems and mis prioritizing spending on things like sports over arts..

Life expectancy? Again, who exactly thinks the US has the longest life expectency? The country is morbidly obese and both sides recognize it... the problem is the left and right disagree on how to fix it..

and the list goes on and on and on...

All the while ZERO credibility is given to the post.. because ZERO evidence of what the "standard" by which any of those things are being judged is given..

what specific factors are being considered when a statement like "climate" is evaluated?

and.. funny.. in some cases it wants to compare the US to the "western world" while in others it wants to compare the US to the "world".. while in others the comparrison is "wealthy nations"..

typical facebook garbage...

Which 'recent election results'?
April 7th, 2026

Georgia's 14th Congressional District Republican

Georgia State Representatives 2 Democratic, Senate 1 Republican

In 2025, because of Virginia Democrats gained 1 trifecta from split (trifecta is where they hold the governorship and both state houses). The Republicans held their 23 for a 23 - 16 lead over the Dems.

In 2025, because of Virginia Democrats gained 1 state triplex (Governor, AG and Sec. of State). Republicans still hold the majority with a 24-21 lead over the Democrats.

So, which 'recent election results'?

W/RE to Virginia, if Youngkin hand't been term limited, he'd have held that state.

And you are the one pulling this down to a childish level.

It would be equally as fruitful to ask "why should anyone care about your opinions" or any other poster here. Literally.

Argument wise, reason wise, and evidence wise I think my posts stand up just as well as any other poster here and better than many.

Saying "why should be care about your opinion" is no rebuttal for facts about NATO is funded, or seeking an explanation for Trump math.

Like I wrote "I just found this on Facebook, dont know if the numbers are true". From reading here I allready know that the US is superior to the rest of the world in every way so I assumed these numbers were not correct ;)

A POLITICO analysis of 229 state and federal elections since Trump’s inauguration shows Democratic candidates outperformed Harris in 193 of them. On average, Democratic candidates overperformed Harris by 5 points. In a handful of special elections, they have pulled more than 20 points to the left.

If you don't think that voting patterns have not shifted away from Republicans towards Democrats recently, you have not been paying attention. In a country like the current US a 5 point shift is very significant.

Saying "why should be care about your opinion" is no rebuttal for facts about NATO is funded, or seeking an explanation for Trump math.

so asking for facts and asking why your opinion matters is childish?

color me surprised at your response..

I refuted your opinion of gloom and doom and presented facts (tesla stock up, inflation not occuring at high rates, etc etc).. I can add more if you like... interest rates are coming down... unemployment largely stable..

where yours and what substantiates them other than you think something to be true therefore it is lacks any fact to support them...

"recent polls"... ok... what polls? "I heard".. ok.. from whom...

my opinion is that yours doesnt matter to the typical american... you arent an American, lack an American perspective, and the things you point to such as economic downfall simply have not occured...

whether you value my opinion of yours is inconsequential to me.. again.. I have presented facts (you are in fact not an American and lack American perspective.. and none of the gloom and doom being preached has had any seen impact)..

you on the otherhand have not...

Of course they are outperforming Harris! Unless they are challenging her to a drinking contest!

From the lower part of that article:
"And part of the strong numbers comes from comparing candidates to Harris, who did worse in 2024 than down-ballot Democrats on the same ballot. "

And of course the losing party almost always sees improvements, because they are energized.
The thing that worries me is the lazy Trump voters that may not come out in the mid-terms, that is the biggest concern in my opinion.

thats not exactly hard to accomplish....

when you sit on the bottom.. there really isnt anywhere to go but up...

As of March 2026 according to a CNN poll (known left leaning) 28% of the US views the D party favoribly..

An April Real Clear Politics poll shows 34% of the US views the D party favoribly..

Where in December 2025 a Quinipac poll showed that 18% of Americans viewed the D party favoribly..

When more than half of your own party thinks your party sucks (according to the December poll).. how hard is it to improve?

And what exactly does "shifting" mean?.. that now about half of your party is satisfied? Thats a win?

Granted, R's dont poll well either... they are 36% approval rating across multiple 2026 polls.. the difference is that is reasonably consistent with 2025 (In general most americans hate ALL politicians).. very little has changed regarding R favoribility...

Another key difference is in a Feb PRRI poll, 81% of Republicans view Trump favoribly overall...

Thats not just MAGA... thats ALL republicans..

For what it is worth, congress has had an approval rating in the teens and low twenties for as long as I can remember.

Likewise, according to recent polling, of the 435 current house seats, only 15 to 17 are actually considered competitive.

So you have 435 members where only 80% are unhappy with the job they are doing and at about 420 are almost guaranteed to keep their jobs.

In Europe unless one does well in Secondary school, one is prohibited from being accepted in to "free" universities. In the States one can go to a community college and do well there and get into a university or joint the military and get in after.

So, I'd say USA has more social mobility.

In reference to income equality I assume you mean excessive taxing like Sweden etc., where success is punished.

That was one of my points...

By what standard is each nation being judged/graded? and is that the standard that most would agree is more accurate and reflective of the question being asked?

Good morning. I see that you had a Sauer 202 for sale for $3,000. Did you sell it at that price?
I have one for sale as well. I listed it (on here ) at $3,000 as well. Is the price high, low or right where it should be?

Thanks. Alex. [redacted] in case you want to call me to discuss further. I appreciate your time help and support.

Dave, I could use both of them if still available. I just picked up a new .22 mag and a .22 pump that they would be perfect on.
