Permanent Export Rolling Block

Hey guys,

I'm Australian, live in Australia. Years ago i paid for a Rolling Block (dated 1873). Cartridge is unknown - its a 2" straight walled case, bore slugs .585.

I'm visiting Oklahoma again in November, spending a month there. I wish to bring it back with me. What i can't work out is do i need an export permit from the USA? I asked them and just got sent a heap of links as a reply rather than a proper answer. As far as I can tell it isn't subject to the NFA export stuff as its a full length rifle, over 26" OAL and barrel is longer than 16". It would fall under "destructive device" being over .5" but would it be exempt for 2 reasons - 1. Antique (pre 1898 manufacture) and 2. Designed for sporting/Hunting use?

What paperwork do i need from the US side? Figure someone here is bound to know how, plenty of guys shipping things every which way and always travelling the globe.

OH! What about a PCP airgun? What would i need to export that?

The age of the rifle would likely qualify it to be considered a "Curio and Relic", which might make it easier to export. The gun will also qualify as an "Antique."

Gun control laws vary widely from country to country. Several nations such as Australia, Canada, the Netherlands, Norway, the UK and the United States make special exceptions in their gun laws for antique firearms.[8] The "threshold" or "cut-off" years defining "antique" vary considerably. The threshold is pre-1898 in Canada, pre-1899 in the United States, and pre-1901 in Australia. Some countries like England exempt certain antiques but they do not set a specific threshold year. In the United States the ATF has the Gun Control Act definition as: For the purposes of the Gun Control Act of 1968, the term “Antique Firearms” means any firearm manufactured in or before 1898 (including any matchlock, flintlock, percussion cap or similar type of ignition system or replica thereof, whether actually manufactured before or after the year 1898) [9]​
