Northfork VS Swift?

Just to add one more piec of anecdotal evidence for the Woodeleighs…I loaded the 310 RN in my 35 Whelen AI and drove it through 4’ of water jugs. Velocity was right at 2100fps. Cracked the back of the 8th jug.

As I’ve stated in another thread, I’m putting together a 35-300 WSM and am curious if anyone has experience they’d be willing to share as it relates to these bullets on game.
More specifically:
250gr or 270gr Northfork Semi Spitzer
VS.
250gr or 280gr Swift A-Frame
Don’t sweat it out, both will kill with shot placement and the animal will never know the difference

Wounded how they would penetratewhen launched our if my standard Whelen at 2,455 fps

With soft bullets, a lower velocity can mean greater penetration due to less expansion. A penetration test should attempt to match the predicted impact velocity.

I've used both North Fork and Swift A-Frames. they both did the intended job on elk and performed as advertised. However i prefer the North fork because of a characteristic I have noted with A-Frames. The rear portion of the bullet swells from the lead core pushing forward as the bullet impacts. I've never had one split but it does appear that the rear portion of the jacket could be made stronger so as to retain the shape. Since the core of the North Fork is solid there is no tendency for it to swell- In addition I prefer the artillery shell type banding to increase sealing of the bore and reduce pressure in the North Fork.

Just wanted to say thanks for the excellent customer service. Ordered some 9.3x62 brass and the delivery was a little short. An email through your website Contact Us link was replied to the next day with the tracking info for the correction. Good pricing coupled with great customer service will see returning customers every time. Thanks again!

Made it to Augusta Georgia yesterday for a meeting, hunt bookings are looking good for 2026 and 2027, had a great time on our Alabama safari shot a rutting deer at 200 yards with 7mm PRC near Huntsville and then headed on to Butler Alabama and semi guided my first deer ever shot a very nice broken off 8 point with hunter there and spend a few days on 1100 acres hunting preserve awesome place!

I am righthanded, so not interested in the rifle, but I have a 375 RUM and 350 gr bullet loading data is very hard to come by. If you could reply with information regarding your loads I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you, Ray Boone, Leavenworth, WA
