Norma USA's factory loaded ammo shoots great out of my rifle and was wondering about the Oryx bullet's performance on game with the .270 Winchester (150 grain)? I read of many satisfied people with the Oryx bullet in the larger calibers, but don't see much regarding the smaller calibers. The new Kalahari bullet shoots great out of my .270 Win, as well, but I never hear much about it either. I have grown quite fond of Norma's loaded ammunition as it feeds flawlessly, shoots accurately out of my rifles and remains consistent from box-to-box.

They should work fine, just avoid that strong quartering to shot. They should be very deadly on broadside and quartering away shots.

I have used the Norma ammo loaded with Oryx heads in 22-250,243,6.5x55 and 308.
Any heads I have recovered from the beasts have shown pretty good mushrooming View attachment 26243

That is great to hear Sika98K. I also picked up some of the new Norma Kalahari bullets and I believe they shoot even better especially at 200 yards. They are just a bit lighter than what I normally like to hunt with, but then again they are all copper like the Barnes bullet and I tend to go lighter with those.

The Norma Oryx is a bonded bullet that holds very well together.
It is a much softer bonded bullet than a Swift A-frame.
So it tends to mushroom up to a bigger diameter, giving more tissue damage and less penetration than a Swift A-frame.
Usually it is very accurate in most guns.

I plan to test them this year in 7 mm Rem.Mag (Norma Oryx 156 gr) on plains game, like you say A-Frame is too hard for most antelopes, and I think that the 156 gr bullet with a slightly higher speed than the 170 gr Oryx in the same caliber will be a most interesting bullet, I prefer when they drop on the spot and the trackers do not care if 1 kg or two is damage, its still meat .. :) ... I client took a wb frontal shot with his 300 w.m with a lighter oryx bullet and it was dead in the same milisec as the bullet impact, drop on place !

I have no idea the shipping cost from here to Costa Rica. I can do my research on shipping and get back with you later today.

I didn't see your request re: ship co’s. My last shipment was 2023. Quotes from SBS Logistics ($1,198), Badger Cargo ($1,184 - used them) & AHG Trophy Shippers ($1,746). AHG owner's an asshole so wouldn't have used him anyway. Eastern Cape - Houston, TX, so your mileage may vary. NEVER use Karl Human Taxidermy aka Wild Africa Taxidermy on Eastern Cape. Trophies arrived shattered with no padding/packing material.
