New guy from Yuma, AZ

Thank you ma'am! Glad to be here! Ready to make some friend's and go to Africa one day!
You came to the right place to make friends and get lots of helpful info and input on all things Africa! I am about to go on my third trip to Africa! It is a blast!!

Welcome! Well, we all have our opinions, and many good places to hunt. You will find yours.

Making a dedicated savings account for Africa and direct deposit into it, and keeping your taxidermy to a minimum if cost is the largest limiting factor. Of my 5 animals from my first trip, I only mounted 1(Euroed the rest.)

Good luck!

Yes sir.. I've seen some of the prices.. Haha.. I'd love to get the mounts, but I bet the cost of shipping is crazy

It’s just something you have to know about, budget and plan for, but for most, a necessary part of it, to have the trophies, to better remember the experience. But totally optional.

Some go, and take pictures and bring home nothing. I can’t bring my self to doing that, not that it is wrong, but the memories on the wall are the most valuable part to me.

I agree with you!! I need bigger walls!!

Welcome from Utah-been afew years since I was down there but used to love quail hunting in December and January. Good doves too over a pond in the evening. . . Africa is a great adventure and more doable than you think. The animals on your list are excellent choices!

I lived in Saratoga Springs for 9 month's when I first got my A&P Certification as an aircraft mechanic! If you ever wanna come back down to hunt, let me know!

Welcome to AH! Just got back from my first African safari in June. This site and everyone here really are the best. Ask a question and everyone helps out. The threads in the search are great resources as well.

To say I'm jealous is an understatement!! I hope all goes well for you! If you need a pack mule, let me know! Haha
I just answered your pm. (y) Feel free to copy and paste it here publicly for others to contribute to as well, if you wish. :giggle:

Hey guy's,

My name is Ryan Moeller and I am an avid hunter here in SW Arizona. I love shooting big guns, hunting, and riding my dirtbike. I'm hoping to make some friend's on here and hopefully make it over to Africa one day! I'd love to hunt Kudu, Eland, Sable, and some other species. If anyone ever wants to hunt Dove or Quail, we have some of the best hunting in the nation for those! I love sharing my passion for hunting and the outdoors! Hope to talk to you gentlemen soon!
Welcome to AH

Welcome to AH! For a number of years while living in Californicate, I hunted dove on the Ft. Yuma Indian Reservation and surrounding areas. Back in the day, the daily limit was 20 and it wasn't difficult to get a partial limit in the morning before the September temps reached 105-110. Then back to the motel room and go back out in the evening and fill the remaining limit. I haven't hunted there since '88, and I know they have casinos there now, so I'm wondering if one can still hunt there?

I believe the reservation can still be hunted. Just have to apply through them. If you wanna come out, let me know! I have a co-worker who wants to show me where the Eurasian Collared Doves hang out.. There's no limits on those

I will. We have the Eurasians here in Colorado too and there is also no limit on them and NO hunting license required also. Only a Hunters' Safety card required. The white wings were THEE dove to hunt back in the day in AZ. There used to be more of them than mourning doves, but sadly development has reduced their populations.
