Hello all, I just today got a Nevada Mule Deer tag that i guess someone else had returned to the state.

It’s good starting this Sunday, October 5, 2025, and good in deer units 141-145.

Due to unexpectedly getting this tag a few days before the opener, I will not be able to physically scout until Saturday.

So now I’m e-scouting.

If anyone here has any info about this unit besides the info the Nevada Dept of Wildlife already has posted online, I’d appreciate it via a PM, and I can try to return the favor as best as I can.

This is late, but I'll give you a couple suggestions. Head west on US50. Go north on Robert's Creek road. Robert's Mountain has usually had good bucks.
Take County Road 101 out of Eureka. Head east on 6th street until it goes into the mountains. Follow the two track to the right and you'll come to a stand of quakies on your left which will be up the mountainside. Get there in the dark and stake out the quakies. There is a spring among the trees. I've bumped deer out of there every time I've been there. No guarantee on a buck, though. Deer are definitely on the decline in the area.
I've been gone from the area since 2006. I can still get to the other "hotspots" but I don't remember the names of the roads and trails.
Good luck.

Hey thanks a lot for the reply! I just got back from spending the weekend out in the Eureka area, a local I talked to had spent all summer scouting for a really big buck up in Roberts Mountain he was really excited about.

For better or worse I focused on the Diamond Mountain Range a little East and North of Eureka, and it rained/snowed there on Saturday the day before the opener, so the dirt roads were pretty muddy. I got my truck nice and dirty, and a bit scratched up, also known as "Nevada Pin-striping" from having to veer to the side a little on those narrow dirt/mud roads to avoid deep mudholes/ruts and getting scratched up by tree branches, lol.

I saw lots of typical sized mule deer bucks on private land, and missed a shot at a buck I tried to ambush on public BLM land when it stepped off a private alfalfa field. My tag is good till the 20th, so hopefully I can go back out for a few days before then, I will check out the area you recommended if I do and let you know what its like now.

Do you live in Nevada? Are you going out for the quail/chukar opener this Saturday?

I had to ask a friend because I couldn't remember the name of the road. About five miles north of Saddler Brown road, there will be a dirt road to your left (west). That is the trail to Vinnini Creek. The largest Mule Deer buck I have seen in Eureka County was up near the top.
I currently live in Las Vegas. I don't miss the snow. And I too have Nevada pinstriping on my Toyota from my last Mule Deer tag in Area 13. I'm not doing any wingshooting this year.
Good luck out there. I'm glad to hear that you're seeing deer.

Thanks again, by the way, Im a member of the Desert Sportsman range out by Redrock, if you ever want to meet up at the range to do some shooting and swap hunting stories I'm game. If you are not a member I can get you in as a guest.

Xpedition Archery USED Scrapeline390X Sniper Gray Crossbow XACW1001 - Light Wear - Needs Bolt/Arrow Guide Spring UA5689

If it is in a decent shape, would you be willing to sell it for $100 shipped? IS it missing the retention spring that goes over the bolt?
Thank you Ferenc

Good morning John, I just read your setup procedure for the northstar duplicator ator. I found it very hand and I did learn some things. I have the same machine and I am having a problem i can not figure out and was hoping you could shed some light on the subject.
