Cape buffalo, plains game
I have heard Cape buffalo called Nyati, and Black Death
Elephants called Tembo, or Jumbo
Leopard called Chui, though not descriptive enough for me given the claws...

I propose the hyaena be called "The Undertaker" since that's what they were for the Kikuyu tribe.
Do you like it? What name would you propose for other African game?

Blesbuck = Beelzebub (the right horns for the job + cloven hooves).

Some of these are their names in another language, generally Swahili. You know that right? They all have a name in that language.

Baboon = Mother-in-Law

@Ontario Hunter, Please, Pretty Please, will you immediately posts a list and photos of your firearms and other outdoor sporting equipment so those of us with 5+ years on this forum can call dibs on the items we want you to will to us before your wife and mother-in-law publicize your untimely "accidental" demise. :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Both long deceased. Both were wonderful people that I loved and respected. It was a joke. Poor one i guess.

First: Sincerest Condolences on your losses.

I and I'm sure other's took your thread as a joke or humorous "stab" at mother-in-law.

This holds true for the respective wives and long time steady girlfriends: When husbands and long time steady boyfriends gather without their wives or long time steady girlfriends around at some point {each sex group} will make in fondness "off-beat jester" comparisons regarding their loved one....and the mother-in-law.

[Come to think of it.] Why is it father-in-laws aren't picked on like mother-in-laws(?).....by both sexes.

Since primates; ie. apes and baboons [species more so used] are the nearest animal world comparison to humans; although usually the reference terms are reserved for men, because of the "ape's and baboon's" size, strength, hairiness, and at times appearance of clumsiness.

:unsure::unsure::unsure::unsure:.......it's plausible; that some mother-in-laws or "mother-in-laws" might be in the baboon category. :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

As long as it's done in jest and each party still loves and respects the other it's all good.

It was a great joke - thank you for the laugh.

My condolences for your loss.

Need anything in trade?
Cheers,
