My Dodge Challenger is called Forrest.

American, fast in a straight line, makes life interesting, not very smart. It fits I think.

Never did grow attached enough to any vehicle to name one. Temporarily named a few with various four letter nicknames. Had a "frankentruck" once, IIRC about a '63 GMC 4x4, the previous owner/builder named TR. It was a real Rough Rider. Had a 2wd slant 6 Dodge PU for a couple of years I called, "POS" more than once- does that count?

So the little station wagon made it to our house in Harare. It's name has changed for the better I think, it is The David Livingstone.

Rafiki at work on the 3BH Ranch. Due to recent heavy rains the normal means of crossing North Elm Creek was impassable. This was the work around. It required the winch.

My vehicle names as a teenager always went with color. Blue Beast (F150) and Gray Ghost (Chevy 1500). When I got my first F250 Diesel I named her Bertha and had that truck for 13 years. Had my current F250 for four years and have yet to give it a name for some reason.

My wife has developed a passion for Jeeping. She couldn’t bear to scratch her “pavement princess “. So we bought this one to off road with. We have literally driven it nine times.

During trip number four it threw the serpentine belt and while in the shop needed new front end work and an A/C bracket repaired that is why it threw the belt.

The ninth time we ever drove it was at an off road park. The wife was having a great time in a mud puddle and then it got too deep. Sucked water into a cylinder the other cylinders fired and blew a push rod out the side of the engine block.

She has named the Jeep Mr. Toad after the children’s book, “Mr. Toad’s wild Ride.” We have contemplated renaming it Bittersweet.

I'll admit they are slow, but you just plan more time. The point is I love driving my Landy, so the more time I am in it, the more I am enjoying myself.

lol called my '70 Buick GSX "Big Bird" even had the lic plate, because it was yellow, and essentially a highly modified, high Hp/torque Skylark model... I've never named any of the myriad 4wd trucks I've had (as I burned 'em out every 4 years,) but the latest, 25 mpg twin-turbo V8 diesel Nissan may be around for life! Friends' trucks have been named Frankenstein and Big Jake. lol I do name rifles! that car if I still had it would cost me about $5 per minute today. Sold it for 12.5K in 1990 worth upwards of 150k today.

I drove a gold 2001 Honda Accord V6 until it was 17 years old and had 257k miles. I never named it, but the girlfriend did. “Old Gold”. She still calls all the similar vintage Accords “Old Gold” every time we pass one, no matter the color.

The other memorable vehicle name I have was my father’s sailboat. He bought a sailboat to restore and was diagnosed with a brain tumor shortly thereafter. After his surgery, we finished the project for him. My brother asked him if he had chosen a name. He said, “I did…but...I forgot” and thus it was christened. “I Forgot”.

This Is the third little Landy in our group belonging to Woods son Dan. It is known as The Janet Smith, the wife of the former Rhodesian prime minister, a really strong and gracious lady. It too is an 86 inch Series 1 of 1957 vintage. Here it is on the Kariba road near Makuti at the famous pee stop baobab.
