I couldn’t wait, I got mine at an auction. It had no sheath, so I sent it to Randall and they built a sheath to my liking, and dressed up the blade. It’s a stainless blade, built in the mid ‘60s.

Deepest congratulations Migrabill!
Best of the best, with the vintage touch, perfect marriage between beauty and utility. I'm a proud owner of a beautiful n.1, too.
Definitely, not just a knife.

Ok ...just wondering what the fascination/desire is with this knife?...heard of them ....
A legend and an icon in the American knife industry. To me they’re in the same category as Ray Ban Aviators, Chuck Taylor All Stars, Levi’s and baseball caps. Timeless and classic Americana. I think I can speak for a lot of people in saying that most red blooded American boys grew up seeing their ads and articles about them or featuring them in hunting, fishing, knife and firearm publications and aspired to own one at some point. I think it was the first “nice” knife brand I became aware of before I was into knives.

I ordered a 14 w Stag handle. Waited 4 1/2 yrs. The Stag really sukd. Watch Ebay. I have bot several off there. With patience good prices and I bought a #1 with Killer Stag. I carry a #8. It is a very handy knife.
Congrats on getting yours.

Just out of interest why is there such a long wait time from ordering?....I mean over 4 years for a knife....seems excessive....
Last I heard they made about 7500 knives a year. To stay viable in the marketplace, the vast majority of those have to go into the market. Huge backlog for individual orders. At one time it was estimated to be seven years.

Yea they’re currently taking orders for 2030 according to their website. They have some authorized dealers that you can request a list of via email.

One AD (I believe) is Nordic Knives. They say you can order one through them and get it in 11-12 months at the moment. They also stock Randall production models.

There is a "grey" market, where you can get some models right away.

@Wishfulthinker580 - I know Randall makes a quality knife and has a very good reputation, they have become “collectible” and increase in value mostly because of their scarcity ….that adds more to their price then does their quality.
I’ve had objects that I only wanted to buy the “name brand” even though I knew equal quality existed elsewhere and at a similar or lower price….but I WANTED the name brand - is that part of the appeal to Randall knives? IE: I’ve got to have a Ferrari even though the Porsche is just as Fast !! Similar to Holland & Holland - rare and only a few made each year, by hand and by only One person —- but there are other great rifles, as good quality, more easily available, slightly less expensive…BUT they can Never be a “Holland & Holland” and therefore just won’t do. I don’t own a Randall, would like too but not enough to go through the effort required and the time needed. But I respect - even admire those that do

Had an excellent classifieds transaction with JoninCO. A truly honest and standup member. I wouldn't hesitate at all to deal with him again. Thanks, J!

Hi Lance, Hope you well. I collect Mauser rifles and they are very much part of my cultural history in Africa. Would you consider selling the rifle now a year on ? I'd like to place it in my collection of Mauser rifles. Many thx

I saw where you hunted elephant with backcountry safaris in Zimbabwe.
Was looking to book an elephant hunt and wanted to know how your hunt went
and if you would recommend them.

Thanks
Mike
hi, do you know about lions hunters, leopard hunters, and crocodiles hunters of years 1930s-1950s
I'm new to Africa Hunting. I would like to purchase a Heym 450-400 double rifle. I'm left-handed but would prefer a non-canted gun. Is anyone in the community considering parting with theirs?
