Mozambique visas - can get on arrival?

Mozambique visa application is asking for a personal banking account statement to verify funds!!!! That’s personal information and seems very strange at the very least.

Just give a credit card statement showing a $10k+ credit. I would not give a bank account statement.

Verifying you have funds needed for a stay isn’t unheard of. Seems odd for a country like Mozambique, but they are probably trying reciprocate treatment they receive applying for US visa.

I’ve never been asked this before. What others countries require this but maybe I’ve traveled to the wrong places in Africa and elsewhere

Here are new requirements US is applying to Zambian visas. Showing a bank statement isn’t so bad.

I ran into the same requirement with the new Namibian visa application. As it turned out, no one in Namibia seems to know why they ask for it. I simply brought a letter from my bank president saying that I had funds sufficient for a trip to Namibia. They never even looked at it. It seems that these African countries are simply trying to parrot the requirements to obtain a US visa. They don’t know why they’re asking for it, but since we do, they do.
