    Actually LTD

If we stick with Burkina Faso they don't have a really bad bad safety rating at all. And no! Not all of Africa is bad, norr all of it's people, but like Chicago there are sections there where they are war zones and on occasion Chicago has more people killed than in Iraq.

Your "proof" of Zambia being safer than England comes from the Zambia Development Agency. My information comes from a organization with no ties to any country. And you really don't believe they are biased???

Come on....do you live in Zambia?

Yes! There are countries in Africa where you are not going to fare well and Somalia. And the Congo Holocaust is no fairytail nor it a fantasy, and it is still going on.

    Hey! Think what you want.

Sir, with all due respect the article quotes the US State Department, Zambia was making a public service announcement. England is rated a 2 on the warning scale and so was South Africa. But not sure how the State Department comes up with those scales. To your point on Somalia, Ethiopia and Kenya are considered do not travel due to its proximity to Somalia.

I'm pretty skeptical of any global ratings though I saw one recently where the US was down graded in the rankings because we were not addressing our carbon foot print and therefore climate change would cause economic and social instability.

    Ok LTD..

I was just wondering. Hey... If you want to hunt anywhere in Africa I wish you the best of luck for everything including your safety.

The country I lived in was Rhodesia. Nice place and and rather wealthy at one time. Today it ain't what it used to be.

Look...There are obviously dangerous place every where in the world where common sense dictates. @LivingTheDream and I were strongly interested in hunting BF but with all that's going on common sense says stay away. Its just too risky right now. And that comes from a sponsor here who hunts BF. He will not be hunting BF this year. Trackers are refusing to go into the bush. What does that tell ya?!

The correlation between Food Insecurity and Conflict is rather high. (Not a surprise)

Maps are a bit out of date. North and west in Benin are no go areas right now due to incursions of terrorists. Mekrou and Djona hunting areas in particular. About half of Burkina Faso is considered unsafe, the whole upper half! I certainly hope things improve but it seems unlikely in the short term.

I was really hoping to hunt there. We have many close friends in Togo. I sure hope this gets contained.

Worst case scenario this morning. Sadly, the news that he has been found dead.

A Canadian kidnapped in Burkina Faso on Tuesday has been found dead, a spokesman for the security ministry told Reuters on Thursday.

The man was abducted after nightfall by a dozen gunmen on a mining site owned by Vancouver-based Progress Minerals near the border with Niger, in an area that the government says is under growing threat from armed jihadists.

“It’s the Canadian that was found last night in the province of Oudalan,” said spokesman Jean Paul Badoum.

Foreign Affairs Minister Chrystia Freeland released a statement Thursday and said, “Canada is appalled and deeply saddened that Kirk Woodman, who was abducted on January 15, 2019, has been killed in Burkina Faso.”

The question that comes to me is an age old one: Euro mount or shoulder? Or maybe full...
