Any outfitter recommendations for a quality outfitter or booking service? I'd love to do this hunt before I get too old, but read a lot of stories/reviews of hunters having issues with licenses, disorganization, areas over hunted, getting trophies back, etc. Also, any outfits to stay away from (please message me if you do not want to post). Thanks

Profihunt or Pro Russian Hunters.

Following. It’s on my bucket list

Becks is who I am hunting with this October. Know many people that have hunted with them, all had successful hunts and none mentioned any issues. From my understanding they hold the concessions so it makes it a little better from getting details perspective.

I think if I was looking to do this hunt The Hunting Consortium is one of the first I would reach out to

I did one last year, group of 3, all shot, i shot a small one on the first day, my advice is don't do that but I'm still happy i wouldn't change anything. It wasnt the guides fault i shot small, you will hear story's of people saying the guides try get you to shoot anything so they can be done that was not what happened. Guide said no big ones, i asked about legal ones, i told him i dont care about big. But i will be going back in a few years big or bust.
I book all my hunts through bullseye outdoors, and he will set you up with a top-notch outfitter. PM me and ill send you his contact info.

Go thru profihunt or Niel & Brownlee.
Profi provides excellent hunts at a fair price. They are Moscow based company but if that bothers you then Neil & Brownlee would be a good alternative.

I’ve booked with Profi and they’re great. Friends just got back from their Russia brown bear hunts and had great reviews. They attend all the major US shows. I’m hunting Nepal this Oct thru them. They don’t seem to rape a guy on the hunt like many agencies.

Thanks for the leads.
Has anyone dealt with a trustworthy Kyrgyzstan outfitter directly? Nothing against booking agencies, but I've heard they are adding a large fee on top ($3-4K) for ibex hunts. Or maybe it's worth some level of protection?

It’s worth it when you are wanting your trophies home after they’ve been sitting in camp for 6 months and the back and forth with some Kyrgy thru google chat isn’t going how you want.

Use and agent and coppersmith for Asia. Africa, Europe, and South Pacific a guy can deal with operators directly. Asia use an agent.

I didn't pay 3k plus fees. The outfitter was great to deal with. Cargo tours in new york is doing the import from my group right now. I just landed in new Zealand for a tahr hunt. Same broker, booking agent consultant what ever you want to call them has booked me on Africa, Spain, Kyrgyzstan, this new Zealand hunt and I will be booking Argentina with him next year.
Calling and talking to them and getting quotes is free.

I actually try to book directly with outfitters, after the horror stories of Asian Mountain Outfitters. I booked directly with my outfitter in Mongolia (he didnt even have a website) and that went fantastic. I booked directly for Kyrgyzstan and will follow up with how they goes.

I will say I use Cargo Tours for my importing though and they have done a great job.

Yeah. I've read about the AMO stories... Makes one apprehensive on Asia. There seems to be much more reliable info on African outfitters, and most seem to be on the up & up.
