Just got back from hunting in Mexico for Barbary sheep. I have been down a few times and have been having a hard time getting cites permits post co vid. Just wanted to check and see if anyone has any advice. The outfitter I use is more of a friend, with a handful of ranches that he hunts mule deer on. He allows us to purchase the Barbary "tags" and hunt when they are not hunting the mule deer. He has been trying to apply for cites permits but says the Mexican government is taking its sweet time. Let me know if anyone has suggestions. I found a export agent in Sonora/AZ who claims he can get them but he wants to charge us $1,300usd to get a permit.

Thank you!

Jose will bring it over for $50 no problema. Sorry could not help it. Probably need to call the ANGADI, If you have not already. Nice rams!

Had no clue aoudad where on the cites list
they are a invasive species detrimental to bighorn sheep , a tick inspection should be the only hurdle imo

Aoudad, or Ammotragus Lervia is under CITES II, so yes, you need an export permit from Mexico.

Very good rams, by the way ;)

Pretty sure you wouldn't need a CITES permit to export one from Texas. Just sayin'.
