Now that's a great idea! What kind of wood is it?
It is a Turkish Walnut, picked it for the density, grain and darkness of the wood.
Nice to see the work is finally getting started! I'm pretty sure it will come out looking awesome with all the plans you have for it! Have you decided on what engraving you want on it yet?
@Timt I have kind of decided on the engraving to be done, just a problem finding a person one can trust and that does not have a 2 year lead time!
You had a very busy schedule.
All the best.
Looks like it's coming along quite nicely.
The discussion was quite a while ago, but I'd be interested in the result.
Has this project been progressed or finished?
Still in progress, hand carved stock is taking some time and the GS is a perfectionist He is also extremely busy.
No worries. Good luck and keep us posted please.
TokkieM, I think it will be a beautiful rifle.
Great stuff! You could look at https://www.prechtl-waffen.de/waffenteile-cat298.html For ideas on a rigby style peep sight... Just saying as I've got an undrilled and tapped FN 98 in 9.3x62 I did that too
Stopped by the Gunsmith today to drop off more work and check on the status of my 9,3. Getting there now and starting to look like a rifle. Amazing how much better a custom built to fit stock feels on a rifle. Couple more months and she will be at home
You will carry a bucket full of pride when you are out with that one
That's going to be a stunner!
That will cause envy in a lot of hunters
Absolutely beautiful, well worth the wait. Cant wait to see the finished product.
Great stuff! Health to enjoy, sir!
I really want to see this one updated. That looks like it will be a very proper 9.3x62 ready for safari
