No worries, what’s the thicknesses?Darker piece of wood with some oil on the top half to see the grain. I should have sanded them both down.
I think both will make some pretty guns.Since the darker is taken by John I’ll take the lighter. Was going to take both lol. Pm inbound
Absolutely, I don’t think one is better than another hence me trying to grab both haha. But I’ve got a couple other walnut blanks too, so I don’t mind missing out on a blank, good grab John.I think both will make some pretty guns.
You do alot of stock work?Absolutely, I don’t think one is better than another hence me trying to grab both haha. But I’ve got a couple other walnut blanks too, so I don’t mind missing out on a blank, good grab John.
I’m getting into it as a hobby, I’m a full time professional woodworker already who specializes in piano work. My other blanks are much nicer and I figured these would be good starters to put on cheaper guns as practice. Here’s some of my professional work, hand carved bridge and all the pins drilled freehand with a cordless drill to precise depth and angle. So I’m pretty confident already based on my skill set.You do alot of stock work?
Very nice. You ever see the studly tool chest? Was a piano maker in 1920s.I’m getting into it as a hobby, I’m a full time professional woodworker already who specializes in piano work. That entire soundboard and bridge was custom made by me, (pinblock too but forgot pics of that also) here was the old soundboard:

I forgot to take pictures of the bottom of the new one, but you get the idea.
I’ve seen it before, it’s really impressive. I wonder about his workplace and the space constraints he may have been dealing with. I’ve got a 3800 sqft workshop, so I haven’t needed to do anything like that. I have many harbor freight and Home Depot mechanics tool chests for my tools, and many handmade (but in a hurry to not waste too much time) tool holding as well. I would like to see it in person someday and see how similar our tools are to each other. There’s a lot of specialty tools that I have either made myself, or had custom made.Very nice. Im also looking to get into stock making for fun.
