LIVE from the Texas Taxidermy Convention

They are closing up for the night. I’ll have whitetail tomorrow along with a few winners ribbons. Big awards get announced at banquet tomorrow night.

The skin creases in that Nilgai is insanely good. With the turned neck how the ripples and creases are. That was formed in the manikin then the skin was pulled over and perfectly placed. That's skill guys. You go to a taxidermist who has great eyes, ears, and can form the skin like that you found yourself an artist

It didn’t cover many whitetail last night as those are obviously the largest number of entries. We only had an hour and I wanted to get my votes in for People’s Choice. There were at least 5 world class taxidermy whitetail in the room. My favorites was actually in the professing division and not masters. I THINK it might have been done by a 18-20 yr looking guy based on the folks I saw interacting around it. I’ll try to get more info and pics today.

Also the snow leopard was very nice and I’ll get more face pics today.

I will be driving back from Dallas after lunch, I don’t suppose they will let just anyone in to have a look?

I think they have a public viewing, maybe a few bucks BUT they start taking down mounts at 2 pm !!!

I didn’t do a taxidermy piece per set but entered the Original Art. There’s only a People’s Choice Award for that category. All those are announced tonight.

Jake, Sorry to bug you again. I was wondering if you could share a. couple actual pics of this crossbow with me?

Xpedition Archery USED Scrapeline390X Sniper Gray Crossbow XACW1001 - Light Wear - Needs Bolt/Arrow Guide Spring UA5689

If it is in a decent shape, would you be willing to sell it for $100 shipped? IS it missing the retention spring that goes over the bolt?
Thank you Ferenc

Good morning John, I just read your setup procedure for the northstar duplicator ator. I found it very hand and I did learn some things. I have the same machine and I am having a problem i can not figure out and was hoping you could shed some light on the subject.
