Just laid my hands on the Lipseys Ruger 77 African 22 Hornet. It is sleek and slim, feels good in the hands.

Are those express sights? I like the look of that barrel band. That rifle reminds me of when Ruger put out the Tropical Rifles in the 70's and 80;s.

Beautiful rifle for a 22 Hornet. This will be a dumb question but what exactly is Lipsey’s? Do they special order certain rifles from Ruger to exclusively distribute? Or do they make semi-custom alterations to rifles?

Linsey’s is a distributor that sells to your local shop….the middle man!

Lipseys is a wholesale firearms distributor that sells to your local gunshop. They do limited exclusives from various manufactures. Ruger is there strong suit. They will contract Ruger for limited editions every year. The African series is one of them.

That is beautiful. The old 77/.22 hornets had some serious accuracy issues. I hope they have them sorted with this lovely little rifle.

That's a good looking rifle. When someone gets a chance to shoot one, let us know!

I’ve been looking for a 22 hornet. That looks like a winner! I’ve seen some CZ but unlike most I don’t particularly care for them but I have several Rugers and like them.

Although when nib, the bolt hardly fit and handload dummy rounds wouldn't chamber and with factory rounds the bolt had to be hit open. After some lapping compound and at least 1000 bolt cycles, all is functioning well. Pics of the bolt with much blueing wear on the multiple friction points because of this.

thanks for your reply bob , is it feasible to build a 444 on a P14/M17 , or is the no4 enfield easier to build? i know where i can buy a lothar walther barrel in 44, 1-38 twist , but i think with a barrel crown of .650" the profile is too light .
