Life size caracal cat ideas

Congrats on taking yours. Photos and where did you take it? I think caracals are worthy of action poses since they are so athletic. They look great when stretched out jumping for birds or combined with a duiker kill. As with all cats, the eyes, ears and face are critical to looking right.

I mounted this one a while back. I have others but I'd have to search through pics to find them.

That’s gorgeous ! Would like to see the others
If I can get some time I will try and find more. You can also jump on my FB page for Top of Texas Taxidermy and there are a lot of pics on there.

The best advice I could offer is to try and take a lot of time researching for a taxidermist that has quite a few examples of cats that when you look at them, you love them. And to some degree, that's going to be a personal preference choice.

I feel like cats are the number one most butchered taxidermy out there. Predators in general are difficult for a lot of people, and it shows when you look at the predator taxidermy out there.

One jumping in air to catch a Cape starling or European bee-eater. Both are spectacular birds. Both are listed as "least concern." Both are common in South Africa (bee-eater is a winter migrant and starling is year round resident).

Keep in mind those cats can jump 8' vertically so a leaping mount doesn't necessarily require habitat. Personally, I don't care for habitat with taxidermy. Damn difficult to keep clean. Mega dust collectors.
