Any feedback on the Amplus 1-6 and how they hold up? I was looking at one at SCI and it seemed like a very nice scope.

I did feel like there might have been a little fisheye effect on 1 power but it may have just been a product of the fluorescent lights in the exhibit hall.

I currently have a Zeiss on my 375 but I don’t love the busy reticle and the way the illumination turns on and off. Great glass but not a perfect scope.

Just bumping up to see if anyone has any experience with these scopes.

I would do it. I have the Amplus 6 and a few Leica Magnus scopes. Highly recommend any Leica. My Zeiss reticle was also busy so I replaced it with a Leica. Love it.

For a .375, especially if you use it for dangerous game or thick brush hunting where quick target acquisition matters, the Amplus 1-6 is actually a better choice than a higher-magnification scope. That wide field of view and the illuminated dot give you confidence. I'd say go for it. You won't regret it.

I’ve used several Ampulus scopes but just got a 1-6 and put it on a new build in 400 H&H
Anxious to use it

I have one in 2.5-15x50. Great scope overall. The rubber o-ring on the end of the eyepiece was too large and it eventually fell off. Kind of a bummer for a scope of this price. However, the optics and lighted reticle are excellent. I’ll use it without the rubber bumper.

Just curious too, on feedback from those that have one as I was interested too but went with the lower priced !eupold 6HD 1-6 Patrol Firedot instead.

Does the Leica Amplus 6 1-6x24i 4A have sufficient eye relief for big bores like 458 Lott? Listed eye relief is 3.5 inches. Not a lot.

What about the Leica emblem on the forward scope tube? Does it interfere with the front scope rings? Is it okay if the rings cover it?

Sorry, not trying to hijack just curious as I’m still interested in this scope.

At SCI I asked the Leica rep about the logo. He said he had never thought about it but called the engineers at headquarters. They said if you use Talley style rings ether will easily flatten the raised aluminum and it won’t be a problem. Alternatively heat is is just an aluminum sticker and easy to peel off.

Still not great answers on a scope of what should be high quality but bottom line is it shouldn’t be a functional concern.

Thanks for the answer, much appreciated. I’m guessing it wouldn’t be an issue anyways since the front rings most likely wouldn’t make contact, I tend to mount my scopes for DG rifles as far forward as possible. I’m considering this scope for my 375 too and possibly a 458 Lott.

Good morning,
Did you hunt w Leeuwkop at their ranch or in Zimbabwe? The ranch looks awesome, but I'll be in Zimbabwe for buffalo and whatever else we dig up.
What did you hunt for?
Vaccines?
What rifle did you use?
I feel like I need a good cotton safari shirt and an ammo belt to make the hunt feel right!
How often did you shoot prior to going?
Did you use sticks for shooting practice?
