Have made the decision to let my 280 Ackley go in the hopes someone gets some use out of it.

Rifle started as a left hand M70 Classic 06 length action. Chambered by Pete Pieper with a 26” Bartlein 8 twist carbon wrapped number 4 contour barrel. Was throated to run the 160-168gr bullets but will work fine with factory ammo. Has Sunny Hill bottom metal, straight bolt handle, custom machined bases for Talley rings, and a Jewell trigger.

Wood started as an exhibition Turkish blank from Luxus Walnut and stock work was done by Rick Mason in Colorado.

I sighted the rifle in and it is scary accurate but has sat in my safe since it was built and would like to see someone get some use out of it.

Asking $7,000 plus actual shipping to your FFL.

Beautiful rifle. If this rifle interests you, deal with confidence. @JMJ888 is pleasure to deal with and is trustworthy as they come. I fully recommend doing business with him.

Dang it Jim! Why did you have to be a lefty?

Every rifle you sell is stunning!

Love this rifle! I just can't shoot it wrong-handed. I sure wish I could! Good luck with the sale! Someone will get a beautiful, capable rifle.

Lovely rifle. Is the caliber 280 Ackley the improved version or standard 280 Rem/7mm Express?

Also, what other rifles are you selling? I, like you, am left handed. So, I'm always on the lookout for rifles like yours. Particularly '98/Mod 70 style with claw extraction.

All the best........Lee

As a side note, I'm north of Conroe/The Woodlands........

For clarity sake it is the 280 Ackley improved 40 degree shoulder that is recent SAAMI spec case body. Uses Nosler/Peterson off the shelf 280 AI brass and dies. Will toss in my Redding dies so there is no confusion. With the way the rifle is throated factory ammo has a decent jump but shoots great.

Also have some 284 160gr Nosler Accubond’s I will throw in…those in front of H4831SC will stack shots on top of one another with regularity.

Only have the two lefty M70’s for sale (375 RUM and 280AI) at the moment. I don’t shoot them enough and have started restoring my F350 7.3 truck so one hobby funding another. Only other M70 I have is a custom 416 RUM that is about 95% complete. I will have some left handed M70 stocks/parts for sale soon.

I live in Cypress and work in the Woodlands so if you ever want to look at them in person would be happy to meet up local.

I have a very similar LH M70 in 280AI and love it. I think, given my own investment, that the price is fair on this rifle.
