Leaving to hunt Bear in Canada in 16 days....

Today it was 22 degrees Monday it is supposed to be 18 in Laronge SK. by Wednesday it could be 22.
If you have not seen a lot of sun, yes you should have lotion on.
Maybe you'll be hiding in the trees in a T shirt.

well be fishing in the mornings and in the woods in the afternoon/evenings so prolly better bring some just to be safe!

Good idea.
Have fun. Bears and Pickeral, sounds like a camp fire dinner waiting to happen.

Remember to post some pictures when you get back.

Well just got back from bear had some good and bad luck. shot a nice bear, made a good shot all on film and then couldnt find bear. we tracked him for around 100yds with good blood found where he laid in water and sealed his wound and we lost the blood.

You had a good hunt and that is very bad luck. Sorry on all fronts to hear that result w/o finding the bear.

Sorry to hear that. I know what it feels like to hit an animal and not recover it. It hurts.

Make the first shot count, Good Luck.

Sorry to hear that. Did you shoot him with bow or gun?

Thanks for reporting on your bear hunt...hope you get a bear on your next hunt.

Sorry to hear that, hope you still enjoyed yourself.

i enjoyed myself thats for sure! Another big plus was a guy who came on trip almost passed away 6 months ago and killed a bear while we were there so that made the trip great!

Where abouts where you hunting?

I think he said Saskatchewan (northern).

also just finalized my next bear hunt...next may will be in Idaho for bear. The area is about 75% color phase.

Sound good what is the success rate there?

last year only 1 guy didnt kill...this year they have had 16 hunters with 13 kills...the first week up there they had a heavy snow and bears werent coming to baits.

Thats why its called hunting and not shooting. Sounds like a great hunt.

Baiting is great (unless you are doing the baiting yourself) but one day I would like to try chasing them with dogs, its illegal up here. I think that would be an exciting hunt.

I'm unfortunately on a diet. Presently in VA hospital as Agent Orange finally caught up with me. Cancer and I no longer can speak. If all goes well I'll be out of here and back home in Thailand by end of July. Tough road but I'm a tough old guy. I'll make it that hunt.

Nice one there. I guided for mulies and elk for about 10 or so years in northern New Mexico.

Business is the only way to fly. I'm headed to SA August 25. I'm hoping that business isn't an arm and a leg. If you don't mind, what airline and the cost for your trip. Mine will be convoluted. I'll be flying into the states to pick up my 416 Rigby as Thailand doesn't allow firearms (pay no attention to the daily shootings and killings) so I'll have 2 very long trips.
