Well, here is the last of 3 Whitworth Rifles I owned, and I definitely saved the best for last. I am not sure whether there was a deluxe version, but if there was, this is it. I have owned alot of these through the years, and by far this is the nicest I have owned. The gun is flawless, but I am going to give it a 99% incase I missed anything. Has the classic leaf sights, nicer wood than the others, whitworth factory pad, stamped Whitworth on it, and sling studs and the standard pedigree features. What looks upgraded, is the level of Bluing, it is mirror like a Weatherby and is etched Whitworth Rifle Company on the barrel forward of the rear sight. Has English proofs, and the action is tight like a Winchester model 70, zero play. It opens like a fine instrument. It is a high-grade rifle and a lot of gun for the $$

I installed the Talley wide base Signature bases, they really look nice on this rifle.

I have this exact rifle and it is a tack driver. I think it is the most accurate of the several bigger bore rifles I have. Sorry if I missed it but what year was it born?

Beautiful gun and a good price. Odd that Whitworth only put one crossbolt in a 375. Usually there's a second one between magazine and trigger for heavy recoiling rifles. Was this typical of Whitworth? Maybe they bedded the back end of action and felt it was not needed? Interesting. You never know. The used stock I picked up for my 404J project obviously came off an African thumper gun: 1) wide profile barrel channel = heavy caliber and 2) no forward sling swivel in fore end = African style rifle with barrel band swivel. Obviously it was an expensive custom stock (thinner than normal wrist for someone with small hands) but curiously it had NO crossbolts. Strange. The stock was already starting to crack internally so I installed two Winchester style crossbolts and bedded the action end to end. Also a steel rod down through the wrist. So far the stock has held up fine. Installing a second crossbolt on this rifle would not be difficult ... if the buyer even felt it was needed.

Never seen one with 2, always one. .375 isn't that heavy of a recoiling gun unless it's an Ultralight. .416s and up a different story. I will say these are super accurate guns. I always shot the 300gr. Slugs

Post 1972 pre 1981. From 1981 onwards, these rifles started getting built in the USA and the magazine base plate release catch started getting located OUTSIDE the trigger bow (like a Winchester Model 70 or BRO ZKK602).

Thanks! I am looking forward to getting them out in the field, though this second one may end up getting dressed with a nice optic to get passed down to one of my sons for their first safari one day.

Also… @Jager Waffen74 has some very nice stuff and after receiving the first rifle I knew I couldn’t go wrong jumping on this one. He’s also a pleasure to speak with over the phone and is a wealth of knowledge on these. Any of these rifles and shotguns he is posting for sale deserve a good hard look!

To you as well KB, love the fast payment as it helps me mitigate seller remorse....lol. by the way I found the date code on that last rifle and it was made 1980. So last year of English made ones. I think you will be ecstatic when you get it. You need to post some picks of it in Africa!
