Well I have Ruger Guide Gun in 416 Ruger matt stainless with Green Mt stock, a M77 Hawkeye Compact 308 stainless with laminated stock, Model # 1s in 375 H&H, 300 Win Mag, 270 Win and 243 Win. All of which are satin stainless with laminated stock.
I formally had a #1 in 458 Lott but sold to an AH member. Bought my son an M77 Hawkeye Compact in 7mm-08 matt stainless with laminated stock.
So you could say I’m a Ruger lover. Many members kid me about them when they come up for sale here on the forum.

all of those are great guns! I love my 416 Hawkeye 77 guide gun with just plain old iron sights too!! I just rolled some spear 350 gr. mag tips at 2550 under 75 gr. of H335. I have a Ruger No.1 in 450/400 NE and the 505 Gibbs on layaway. I have other assorted pistol boomers too but peanuts compared to many naturally.

I have several "slack" days after fishing before I head for stay in Sydney and Fiji.

Do you have any recommendations for 1 or 2 day hunt near Cooktown?

I've hunted both DG and PG in 4 different countries in Africa.
