Jumping kudus

My second stab at sculpting. I'm about 90% done with some light clean up left. Do you like tight big loop curls or wide and flared? Based on basic measurements both bulls should have approx 65" horns. I have come to realize I'm much better at fence posts

Very, very nice work - If I may offer constructive criticism - kudu that old and large almost certainly will have the final tips flaring slightly out. The trail animal looks really good. However, to me, the lead animal's horns don't look realistic for his size. I would flare them slightly as well.

When done it will be very impressive. Did you have the first one made into a bronze?

I appreciate the critique and whole heartily agree with the normal. I know it's hard to tell but I was trying to make the lead bull appear slightly younger then the trail bull. He is slightly less bulky through the neck , shoulders and face. The difference could have been made more clear. Secondly, I wanted the two shapes to be totally contrasting. After doing the 3 kudu bulls, I find the horn shape to be the hardest to replicate of all the features. It drives me crazy !! You can see the horns aren't as finished as other parts because I keep fiddling with them and messing up the clay. I'm going to knock down the veins in the face and try to clean up all the finger prints on the cactus

I'm still waiting to get the first one bronzed and will add these two into my order once I feel I can walk away from them. The wire across the fence post will come post bronzing.

Absolutely no need to apologize. It was a fair critique and appreciated.
I do intend to have them cast and depending on how I like them I might consider selling a few to help with casting cost. I never considered someone might buy one

My next project is going to be a kudu bull looking out over a rock ledge like the picture of the one passed by @Neale on his 31 day, 3 outfitter safari when he was with SS Pro safari. I need to find that picture. Neale, can I sculpt your kudu please ?

Rick Taylor does lovely work. When you decide to do one which accentuates the kudu's height, put me down for one. His work - Mopani Bull - is a wonderful example (and unavailable at almost any price). You have his skills. Keep at it!

Just a thought the tips are the weakest part of these Kudu. The tips are shaved down to the point that the horn might be several inches longer if they hadn't been sharpened from use. Here are tips of a Kudu and a Nyala neither are blunt.

Forgot to ask, I am from Loveland CO the home of the bronze sculpture. How big are these going to be as a finished piece? Our big show is August 11-13. Thousands of artists showing there skill.

I finally got my finished bronzes back from the foundry. As a small recap, I took a promotion and work M-F 3 hrs from my wife and home. As such, I rented a small one bedroom apt to stay during the week. I do taxidermy as a side hobby and since that wasn't conducive to my one bedroom apt I decided to channel my extra time into sculpting. Here are my 1st and 2nd attempts.
1) Do you like fence or no fence ?
2) Stripes or no Stripes ?
