Ivory Characteristics

As I am in the infancy stages of researching my Elephant hunt one of the first things I realized was the different characteristics ivory has in different regions. I quickly realized I was drawn to the thinner but seemingly longer ivory that seemed to be coming with greater frequency from Tanzania. Google proved to be rather useless when trying to narrow down which regions produced it more frequently and which regions it was rare in. Any information that you can give me would be very much appreciated. Looking more at Tanzania, Zambia, and Zimbabwe and what areas I should look into or avoid with those characteristics in mind.

Thanks

Forrest elephant in Cameroon would probably be the longest for the weight. Not sure where you are located but check to make sure you can import them to your country.

Tanzania will have some long thin ivory but the chances of getting a legal bull at the moment are virtually nil. There can't be more than a handful of sport hunted elephant taken in Tanzania in the last couple of years. Also verify your ability to import the ivory.

Zimbabwe, Namibia, Zambia, RSA will probably be your best options. Again, check on your ability to import to your location.

All the best.

Just wanted to say thanks for the excellent customer service. Ordered some 9.3x62 brass and the delivery was a little short. An email through your website Contact Us link was replied to the next day with the tracking info for the correction. Good pricing coupled with great customer service will see returning customers every time. Thanks again!
