I just acquired a 6.6 Swedish mauser. Love the rifle but was having trouble getting 6.5 x 55 rounds. Was told I could use 6.5 Creedom. round and.260 remmington round. I dont like useing different rounds. Any suggestions ?

Those rounds are not interchangeable. Check online vendors. With a common cartridge such as the Swede, there should be plenty of ammo available.
SG Ammo has some bullet weights in stock.

You may have been told that you can use 260Rem or 6.5Creedmoor bullets, which is correct. The bullets are interchangeable, all being 6.5mm.

HOWEVER, the cartridge, ie the completed rounds you'd buy as 'ammo' are definitively not interchangeable.

Buy the cartridge as listed on the barrel, no other.

Lots of 6.5x55 Swede ammo available on Gunbroker

Linse01, no no no! As already mentioned, only use the ammo the rifle is marked to use!

Oh, and welcome to the AH forum! Please take a few minutes and introduce yourself under the heading “Introductions & Get Togethers”. Tell us a bit about yourself such as hunting experience or what you would like to hunt, have you made it to Africa, what guns do you own or would like to, etc.
Again, welcome to the forum!

@Linse01 Welcome to AH.

Now that the ammo ordeal has been sorted...
How about a picture of your rifle?

The 6.5 x 55 Swedish Mauser is my go to rifle for deer sized game. The original 1896 Swedish Mauser was way ahead of its time. It doesn't leave very much on the table when compared to the modern 6.5(s.)

I didn't see your request re: ship co’s. My last shipment was 2023. Quotes from SBS Logistics ($1,198), Badger Cargo ($1,184 - used them) & AHG Trophy Shippers ($1,746). AHG owner's an asshole so wouldn't have used him anyway. Eastern Cape - Houston, TX, so your mileage may vary. NEVER use Karl Human Taxidermy aka Wild Africa Taxidermy on Eastern Cape. Trophies arrived shattered with no padding/packing material.
