I always wanted a Big Bore by Sterling Davenport - a 500 Jeffery custom

Well if you had any loose filling you would know it after 4 700NE shots. Nice work.

The recoil of my 500 Jeffery is nothing compared to the recoil of my 475 A&M or my 600 NE.
I also have a 700 NE double rifle that puts both the others to shame.

see the video here -
The .475 A&M was admittedly one that I was scared of. A year or so ago I had somebody offer me one at an unbelievable price. I passed. :-). If rusty memory serves me right, the third rifle (or something like that) failed and injured somebody. Kind of like horses; if one scares you, don’t screw with it. :-). I still don’t trust blue-eyed paints either. :-).

I have come accustom to very heavy recoil.
To offset that - I had a custom rifle built that has NEGATIVE RECOIL.

Can I see a photo of your 600 .. I've exploited the VC 577 here enough ..

a 9lb 500J @ 7000ft.lbs can be difficult to be proficient,

To see my 600 click the link on my previous post where it says .... "My New Verney Carron 600 NE has arrived"

Yes, I love that one. It was my first NEW purchased double rifle. I sold 55 guns from my collection to raise the money to buy that VC 600NE in 2015. I sold it in 2017 because it was up-staged by my 700NE. ..... But, I actually bought it TWICE. ... I bought it back 5 years later in 2022 .... see the link below ........

Very Seldom do we get a DO-OVER - I bought back my Verney Carron Custom Shop XA Azur 600NE

I remember that post. The opportunity to buy back which was once sold, is a rarity.
The days of VC's Big big bores have become history .. economic downfall here & Europe. Built during the Jerome years.

This is the 4th time I've been able to "buy-back" a regretted sale. I hope some day VC recovers.

Hi PaulB,
I have a Ballard Arms Model 1885 chambered for .333 Jeffery Flanged. Do you have any idea where I can get ammo for this?

I am new to this forum so I am sorry if I am doing something wrong!
Thank You!
