Hunters Trolling PETA

I personally feel that cowing down to these people does more harm than good. Anti's have done a great job of making hunters and organizations feel guilty for what we do and try to overly PC up everything. It plays right into their hands. The best thing we can do is show people how absolutely ridiculous and crooked these anti organizations are. They are hypocrites and need to exposed as such. Poking fun at them in a tasteful way gets people's attention and exposes these nut job's true colors. I say this because what is their reaction 99% of the time? They will fly off the handle with insults and death threats. They will hang themselves in the eyes of public opinion, we just have to provide them the opportunity

And it is broader than just antis. This describes the liberal strategy in general.

You are exactly right and the proof of this is in the events that have taken place in this country since the last election. The media has no credibility anymore as the average person is seeing what an absolute abomination, or should that be Obomanation, these groups are. No one is happy with these leftist idiots. Despite pollsters still trying to discredit Trump I have a feeling these mid term elections coming up are going to see some serious house cleaning in a good way from both sides of the isles. I think the rhino traitors are going to loose and many more democrats are going to loose.

Need something like have a conversation with a hunter. Don't threaten to kill him and his family.

Interesting article and perspective....

I read it and thought, "crap, should I have used that frame on FB? Am I doing harm to the cause for a laugh?"

After some reflection I decided that, for me, making a joke at PETA and using the frame was the right thing to do. I set it for a week originally and plan to leave it for that time.

Here is why I think it's ok, again, for me.

  1. The picture I used is tasteful and I've used it as my profile pic before
  2. I'm a hunter and I shouldn't be ashamed
  3. PC is crap. Respectful, yes. PC, no.
  4. Hunting and killing is part of life, even if it is a vegan killing a plant, they are killing.
  5. People who aren't hunters need to understand No 4. Urban society masks the killing and distorts it, making it always bad and evil. It's not.
Stick to the facts and educate people. For me, this helps to do that. We are so much better armed than we were when Cecil occurred. I think most of us have a better handle on the facts (I know I do) and we are STARTING to make better use of social media.

I've said it before and I will say it again. If you aren't on FB simple because you believe it's anti-hunting (doesn't matter if you are ready right or wrong) then you are doing yourself and the hunting movement a disservice. It's a tool. We must use it, or put ourselves at a serious disadvantage.
Royal27,
I truly like what you said. I had the same feeling when I read that article as well (hence why I posted it here to see what you guys thought) and then I thought "why does that matter?". I'm only friends with people I know on FB and they see my hunting pictures anyway and they all know how serious I am about conservation. SO I will agree with you on the fact that we can use FB as a tool. Not to bash anyone, but to professionally educate the public of what hunting TRULY is. Thank you sir!
Ps: Nice bull on your profile!

That"s what I thought, until a friend of a friend evidently looked up my home page and screamed vile things at me (all caps). I took the shot of the kudu down, because few people seemed to know what it was, besides dead. I replaced it with a picture of me and my Presbyterian cape buffalo. That one is easy to justify. It went to garnish the grits at a Synod/Chiefdom revival meeting, in response to a letter I still have.

And to be the highlighted is very important, for hunting and other things we believe. I've got a few liberal friends, very liberal friends. I use FB to occasionally remind them that there are other ways of thinking and that just spewing doesn't always work. They love me. LOL!

I also don't ever delete those liberal friends and only if rude do I delete their statements. @gizmo saw a bit of that a couple of weeks ago! They get the three strikes and you're out rule. This is for real friends only. If a stranger is obscene on my page they get blocked. I won't accept that behavior on FB anymore than I would in my house.

And thanks for the complement on the bull! It was truly a special animal. Old and free range and dreamt about for almost 40 years before I found him. :)

Is this rifle sold? If not what is the weight of it and do you know if there is enough difference in diameter between the 35W and the 9.3 to allow for a rebore to a 9.3x62 which is what I am after?
Thanks,
Gary (Just down the road in Springfield)

Forgive me if this is the incorrect area, I signed up to this forum just now because I wanted to be on the list to purchase a copy of your autobiography. Please feel free to pass my information along to whomever is selling. Thank you so much. I look forward to it!
I like the Tillie in my picture. They are supposed to fit loose (2 fingers inside hat band), have mesh for cooling, and hold their shape after washing.
