Hi Guys

Looking for some advise on the below:

Hornady 500 Cal .510 570 gr DGS vs Peregrine Solid Copper VRG2.509, 570gr

My colleagues shoot Peregrine in their 450NE and 470NE - I am tempted to go with Hornady for my 500NE

Any of you use Peregrine's and Hornady's that can advise on the differences you see on big bore?

Hello Adriaan, I unfortunately do not have the answer. My 450 was regulated with Hornady solids and I have option to buy some mono heads but was wondering if it's worth the effort. So I had almost the same question, are monos better than lead core solids?
What was your double regulated with?

My 500 is regulated with Hornady, however, I am going to start reloading for it soon and just looking for some different opinions...

First congrats on your new double, if I was not owned by a 1905 British double I would be sporting a 500 VC..
Not quite sure what is available in your neck of the woods check out
CEB
Northfork
Barnes
Woodleighs
In other forums all of the above have shot well in VC doubles regulated for Hornady bullets..
If you don't have one get yourself a copy of G Wrights Shooting the British Double
Good Luck Good Shooting

i wouldnt recommend Hornady bullets unless thats all you can get.

since your in SA i recommend Woodleigh or Barnes if you can find them.

What is the minimum you would take.

I have a Chapuis 450-400 double that looks brand new and shoots well, never been hunted from what I can tell. I am willing to part with it as I have a 375 H&H Sodia on it's way from Dorleac & Dorleac. I am looking for $9,250 for it and if you are interested, I am happy to send you some pictures. Regards,
Steve
