I serched lube but all that I found was for sizing cases. What I am asking about is what is the preferred lube for the hinge pin on a double rifle. for relatively clean I have found RIG or even RCBS case lube provides sufficient lubrication for the pivot, but I am concerned that either might be quite an attractant to dust and dirt, which are common on most Africa hunts. What is suggested fofr use in those locations?

I use this on my shotguns, but Jeff's look to both be out of stock and shutting down shop. One of these little tubs seems to last forever, perhaps there is another source?

I reckon any Teflon based grease will do the job perfectly well. You needn't fuss about anyone’s secret recipe. Any grease is of course going to get dust stuck on it. If that’s a worry of major concern clean it off every evening over a beer, whiskey and a cigar and reapply fresh grease.

Ken Owen’s grease all I use on all doubles.

Good Afternoon,
How firm are you on your Dakota 416? I am highly interested but looking at a few different guns currently.

Best,
BJ

What is the minimum you would take.

I have a Chapuis 450-400 double that looks brand new and shoots well, never been hunted from what I can tell. I am willing to part with it as I have a 375 H&H Sodia on it's way from Dorleac & Dorleac. I am looking for $9,250 for it and if you are interested, I am happy to send you some pictures. Regards,
Steve
