Hello from Alaska

Welcome to a great community Roland.

Welcome to AH RolandtheHeadless! Enjoy the site.

Greetings to all. I live in Anchorage, and have done quite a bit of hunting in Alaska, but almost no place else.

I'm here mainly to learn more about Africa, as I'm planning to do a hunt there sometime in 2016.

We are getting enough of us up here now that maybe we should have an Alaska AH get together sometime this winter?? What you think @Velo Dog????

Hi Chuck,

Selfishly, I offer to host it at my place.
The Safari Bar is ready when you are - lol.
If we time it right, I could even have a real live South African there.

On the other hand, I will happily go to wherever anyone else wants to have it, including your place there in Seward, no worries.

Cheers,
Paul.

Would be nice to get together and pick each others brains over some good food and libations...

Well... If someone wants to take the reigns of this Alaskan beast of a meeting, feel free to step up. I work a slope schedule so PM me so we can kick it off.

If it's at Domain Velo's, I will make sure the party schedule fits yours and as many other's schedule as possible around here.
I can make it happen as early as sometime in October but am open to suggestions.
Likewise, if we have it around late Jan to early Feb, a friend of mine from South Africa will be in Anchorage to join us.
He actually has the answers all of us Americanos are seeking.

Meeting at Velo's Safari Bar is good with me. I am faily flexible and sure we can work around @AKSloper71 work schedule. @huntermn15 should be back soon with lots of stories and pics so it might be cool if we did it sometime this fall. But if we wait until Hannes is here after the first of the year jan/feb that is good with me too!!

Late October would work out great for me...

Thanks for all the welcomes. If fellow Alaskans are meeting up, I hope I'm invited.
Hahaha! I was just thinking about how we hijacked your thread Roland! Of course you are invited!

Roland,

Are you kidding, it won't be a party unless you show up.
If you get around to it, maybe you can PM Larry4831 and figure out a car pool into the big city as we get closer to a plan.

Cheers,
El Doggo.

Spike,

You as well are of course very welcome here any time.
I know it's a mighty long way from Zambia but if you ever get a bee in your bonnet to visit to Anchorage, I'd be proud to pour you a tall glass here any day.

Cheers,
Velo Disease.

Hey Steve, This is Steve Washington we met at KMG last year. I am interested in your Winchester. Would love to speak with you about it. I work third shift and I cannot take a phone with me to work. Let me know a good time to call during one of your mornings. My phone is 239 565-8988. Live in Florida so I have to account for the time difference.
Look forward to hearing from you.

Good day, Slider.

Do you by any chance have any 500NE brass left that you are willing to part ways with?

Best regards,
