Nope! But it looks like something you would hang on a door!

Wow a blast from the past. I recall my parents having something like that when I was really young. It hung on the basement wall I think. I think it had more horse type imagery. I wonder where that thing is.

Yeah it showed up in a junk and antique store and thinking I like it but would like to know something about it?

Isn't that a cinch strap from a saddle? C'mon, Texans!?!

Maybe a saddle strap.... decorative breast strap....for horse. Or maybe just something a rich dad beat his kids ass with. I just got a leather belt or a 1x4 w/grip.

Yes, they're horse brasses. Used to decorate shire horse harnesses in the UK.
They were quite popular a couple of hundred years ago and quite often can be seen decorating the interior of old country cottages and ye olde English public houses.
Originals are collectors items but as with most things, the repro market has made them readily available to those who want an olde worlde feel to their residence.

Need to get to Virginia sometime. Every antique store in the state has them hanging about. As noted, lots of repos as well.

Here's a photo of Tony receiving that Shaw & Hunter award at the 1970 annual EAPHA Dinner Dance. Tony Dyer, then EAPHA President and Princess (Sunny) von Auersperg presented it. I also attended the event.
