Just 2 critters so far. The springbok was shot with a 117 grain shock hammer out of a 260 Remington. The nyala with a 200 grain shock hammer out of a 35 Whelen.

I would link you to another forum but that’s not allowed. A number of people seem to like them quite well. A Google search would likely pull that up.

I shout two Auodad rams and a whitetail buck with them last year. .264 Win Mag shooting the 123 gr. Absolute about 3400 fps. They all dropped where they stood. Farthest shot was 150 yards. Found some of the pedals that broke off, but the main shaft passed through every shot. All three animals were shot through the shoulder. The deer's chest cavity just sloshed when I loaded him in the truck. Pretty devastating.

I've been using some Hammer Hunter projectiles because. In that other forum.

I found that shoot a tight group from my .308.

I finally shot some pigs with these. Down dead done and dusted.

I also shot 3 feral cats and even being small game the 124gn HH worked a treat doing sufficient damage and clean kills.

I think I have posted pictures and stories about my African hammer experiences.
Left hand Zastava M70 9.3x62
258 shockhammer (I think the name has changed)
65.0gr CFE223 in lapua brass
2585fps
Impalax2, warthogx2, springbok, nyala, sable, zebrax2 waterbuck, oryx
Shortest shot was 40yds and longest shot was 242yds excellent bullet performance with all but the waterbuck down after the first shot.

I am tempted to try their 240gr bullet to get a little more velocity shock and bradding of the shank as it penetrates.

I will add that as with all hollow point monometal bullets, hammers don’t do well if the point gets clogged with brush/wood. They have come out come out with a tipped line of bullets and are currently working on a 9.3 bullet with a tip.

Found them to be very accurate and fast, no field performance to add.

I like Hammer Bullets. They’re a little different but work well. The bullets are all copper with their PDR (Parabolic Drag Reduction) rings. Basically they reduce friction while traveling through the bore. One important thing to consider using Hammer Bullets is twist rate, which Hammer provides recommended minimum twist for their bullets. The owners Brian and Steve are stand up people and very conciensous about their product. https://hammerbullets.com/

The only critter I’ve taken so far using them was a bull elk with my 8mm Rem Mag and a 198gr Hammer Hunter. The bull dropped to the shot and that was it.

Weatherby is offering factory ammunition with Hammer Bullets in some of their calibers. I am using them in 6.5 Wby RPM and 6.5-300Wby. They shooting very well in my rifles.

April 28th I posted a hunt report on my hunt to S Africa using Hammer bullets and so did RTSJ

Interesting and encouraging to hear about new developments in the bullet department. We don't (AFAIK) get them in Scandinavia.

I do recall seeing some guy on YT who was decidedly NOT a fan of Hammer. On a video of some deer he shot, one could see the bullet hit the dirt some 20-30(?) degrees to the side of where it would have landed if it had been a 'clean, straight-line pass-through'.

To me, one needs to take into account that (slightly) unexpected things sometimes happen. A bullet veering off a bit to the side (after impact) is one of those things. If it happens every time, it could be a problem with the bullet, but it is more likely that the twist rate is the issue.

I have not posted any items for sale on this forum and will not every put anything for sale. My account was hacked and I've worked with the admin to get things shut down.

Hello,
I might be able to help you out depending on how many you need. I could probably spare 50-75 .285g A-Frames. They are factory pulls that look like new. Let me know if you are still looking,
Thanks,
Gary
