Good Gun Deals This Week

I’m not even at the DR novice level.

The condition of each DR is listed and they describe needing work.
I realized later there were links to each to see the descriptions - sometimes I'm a little slow...:D

Price seemed too good to be true.

Looks like the stock on the 585 is cracked as well, to be expected haha.
I was actually in on it early, and then they changed the description stating it doesn’t fire. They auction house was good enough to clear my max bid on the item.

Man I would love that 244 h&h, if I wasn't spending money getting a stock put on my 458 right now I'd buy it. I like that cartridge so much that I had a rifle built in 244 h&h. Mine is a slight modification of the cartridge to run .243 cal bullets instead of the .245 of the original. With my modern loads I'm getting 3515 from 115 bergers out of a 28.5" barrel.

I saw a couple of rifles on GunBroker that end later today that are currently sitting at attractive prices. I can only assume those prices will go up later but I thought I would share the links in case anyone wanted to monitor them.

The first is a Sako 85 Finnbear in 300 Win Mag that is sitting at $1,250 with zero bids.

The second one is a Steyr Mannlicher in 243 Winchester with a Swaro Habicht scope that is at $930. Let's call it a @Bob Nelson 35Whelen special since it is in one of his favorite chamberings (I'm assuming his phrase "prissy little 243" is a term of endearment). ;)

Man, you northern boys have seemingly limited our access to Elwood Epps. Or perhaps my wife has me blocked. :-)
It is blocked for us Europeans as well now.

However, that is not a full-blown D’arcy Echols classic. It is a D’arcy stock on a factory, Winchester, featherweight barreled action: still a beautiful gun and according to D’arcy shoots sub MOA.

There is a Leica Geovid BDA in really pristine condition on GunsInternational right now for $375 plus shipping. They were heavy, but good and laser rangefinder is nice to have sometimes.

Just for fun, I'm going to rant a little bit. But hey, that's what forums are for!

This auction for a left-handed Cooper 52 in 30-06 annoys me.

It's not the manufacturer. I love my Cooper in 22-250. It's not the $2k price based on what a Cooper normally costs. Nor is it the classic 30-06 since I have more rifles chambered for it than any other cartridge. The problem is that this is a semi-custom rifle and the person specified they wanted the basic options that every left-handed manufacturer already offers.

It's like the time I took my little sister to Baskin-Robbins for ice cream and she ordered vanilla. Or the guy who worked in the building next to me who ordered a custom Audi TT. If he can get it painted any color on the planet, why would he choose flat battleship primer gray? I'm just shaking my head.

As a left-handed shooter I'm commercially limited to about a dozen common cartridge choices & about another dozen less-common ones. But if I'm getting a custom rifle made where I can choose from a much wider variety, personally I would want something that was never readily available to someone with my particular southpaw affliction (e.g. 257 Roberts, 7x57, 35 Whelen, etc.).

Thanks for listening to my TED Talk. I feel better now. ;)

Sir, I will gladly take that 16 gauge off your hands. I was waiting for your Winchesters but I'm a sucker for a 16 ga.

I bought a great deal of the brass he had for sale, plus I already had many hundred rounds.

How much brass are you looking for?
