25” barrel WS-1 choke, 14” LOP, serial number indicates 1960 manufacture, round post “Winchester special vent rib” apparently only done for a couple of years, excellent plus condition. I’ll be glad to provide more photos or video if needed. $1035 shipped to your FFL.

Oh man that’s tempting!

I periodically get out my "Heavy Duck" and reverently wipe it down with a bit of oil. I have had this one since 1972 when I guided for the Chateau Charles duck club in Lake Charles, LA. Were I ten years younger, I would buy it tonight. Good luck with the sale.

Now that Bismuth and some of the other new shot is readily available these old Model 12's are back in business. Very cool and nostalgic gun

I used to spent a good deal of time in West Lake/Lake Charles in 2020-22.

Small world. I lived in Moss Bluff in the 90s.

I am still trying to picture the General in his Hackberry Reboks, terrorizing ducks with Boudreaux and Thibodeaux!

Beautiful Winchester!

Does it have the 2 3/4” chamber or 3” chamber like the Heavy Duck?

Only 2&3/4” chamber
My apologies for the late response - I just got back home
No worries. WS-1 barrels are 26” usually. Was it ever cut down?

Well this brings up a good point. I never researched Model 12’s fully. I’m going to have to call for the Winchester records and get the build sheet. Thank you for the heads up !

Close the action, run a dowel rod down the barrel until it hits the bolt face, mark the dowel where the barrel ends, remove rod and measure to that mark. I think you’ll find you’ll be on the money for 26” using this method.

Here's a photo of Tony receiving that Shaw & Hunter award at the 1970 annual EAPHA Dinner Dance. Tony Dyer, then EAPHA President and Princess (Sunny) von Auersperg presented it. I also attended the event.
