Could you tell me what configuration you ordered? That is a very nice traditional stock, most Boyd’s are garish with an exaggerated cheek piece. I also assumed the wood upgrade wouldn’t be so nice.

I have an unfinished walnut Boyd's stock....Beautiful

I’m trying to find the details sheet now but that wood is the upgraded walnut. I’ll get back to you.

I am also surprised by the quality of the wood upgrade. Could you share which wood upgrade you chose?

Edit: I posted this the same time as you saying you were looking for the sheet. Thank you.

The spec sheet reads “… XX Walnut rifle blank (50% figure)”

They should give you a commission. I think you just helped them sell some stocks. :ROFLMAO:

Did they happen to send you pictures of blanks ahead of time, or just made one that fit those qualifications and sent it?

No I didn’t get choices of blanks. They just made one to the specs provided.

Last time I checked Boyd's actually charges more for unfinished stocks. I would strip the lacquer from this stock, send it off for hand checkering, and then finish it in oil.

Good buy for $350.

What is the minimum you would take.

I have a Chapuis 450-400 double that looks brand new and shoots well, never been hunted from what I can tell. I am willing to part with it as I have a 375 H&H Sodia on it's way from Dorleac & Dorleac. I am looking for $9,250 for it and if you are interested, I am happy to send you some pictures. Regards,
Steve
