One of my projects is up for sale: This is a Blaser R8 Professional S stock receiver which has had the barrel channel professionally opened up to 22mm. This was done to accommodate a PROOF carbon fiber barrel in 280AI. I will sell these together at a discount, or separately. The S receiver has the non-detachable trigger and is a bit lighter than the standard stock receiver. This one has a Limbsaver recoil pad installed, but I can install a standard Blaser pad if desired. There are a few minor rub marks as seen in the photos; otherwise it’s in excellent condition.
The barrel was built from a 22”, 7mm, 8 twist PROOF CF blank, muzzle threaded 5/8-24, Akila extension by Texas Sporting Arms. I have a number of their Blaser barrels and they are excellent. This one shoots factory Barnes 152 grain LRX at 2973 fps, about .5 MOA, suppressed. The barrel comes with the correct Blaser magazine insert. Fit to the stock is absolutely perfect.
I’m just back from a successful Canadian red stag hunt where I used this combo, and it all worked perfectly. I just have too many Blasers, too many Blaser 280AI barrels, and, since I no longer have any 22mm barrels except for this one, I’m ready to thin the herd a bit.
Price for stock receiver, barrel and magazine insert: $3200. I’ll throw in a selection of factory ammo and brass.
Price for stock receiver only: $2250.
Price for barrel and magazine insert only: $1250.
I’ll consider interesting watch trades.
