Hello,

I don't "need" another big game rifle. Period. But for many years I was thinking and looking, lightly, for a 9,3x62 bolt action. And, unexpectedly, "my" 9,3x62 did appear!!
Since I bought it, until I got it, 10 days ago, bringing with me in a trip from its original location, in Europe, 8 month passed.
The gun is a BRNO ZKK 600. Made in 1967. Very ligthly used. Being stored most of its life. The changes to make are:
The recoil pad because I don't like it and because is hard and dry...!
The set trigger. I will put the single original trigger, as I did on other BRNOS before.
I have had 3 ZKK 601 .308 Win, the eldest made in 1977. All very good rifles, but this 1967 is entirely another rifle. The fit and finish has nothing to do with these previous ZKK!
I put a Schmidt & Bender 1,5-6x42 N4 reticle in Alaska Arms rings I already had.
Here it is:

Very nice and judging by the bolt, it appears to have had very little use.
Congratulations on such a fine rifle.

Yes, I think the same, looking at the bolt and the magazine.
As I said, I am amazed by the quality of the polishing, blueing and machining of this ZKK!! Much better than the others I have had. All made after 1968...

The weight of the rifle, without scope, is exactly 7 lbs. With this scope set up, plus a full magazine (5), and a light leather sling, is 8,5 lbs. And, in spite of the drop of stock, when I mount the rifle, the reticle is exactly on the aiming point. The balance also is perfect for me!!
I am very happy with this old ZKK!

Is the set trigger you will replace a double set trigger? If yes I may be interested buying it if you have no use for it. Thanks

Congrats! Nice looking rifle sir

Hi farrokhrt,

The "set" trigger I will replace is the one you see in the pictures. It works only in the BRNO ZKK 601 and 600.
If you need it, no problem, is yours!

Thanks Ferreira. My fault not looking carefully at the great pictures you've posted! I just read the description and thought it may be a double-set trigger. But it's not. However, I really appreciate your generous offer but I can't use this. I like double set on my Mausers.

It's wonderful to meet good people on this great site.

Great looking bit of kit sometimes the older guns are loads better than the new versions

Cheks always made great rifles at Brno factory if you haven't seen one of their Persian Mausers made during the 1920s for Shah's father you should look one up. In my eyes they have to be the most beautifully made military rifles ever made. Their attention to detail was amazing.
You do have a beautiful rifle. My 9.3x62 is an Oberndorf Mauser with London proof marks made in 1916 (best I can tell). Not drilled for scope mounts and I'll keep it that way. It's express sights are good enough!

Congrats on your find,

You welcom Mr. farrokhrt!
Great rifle do you have!!!
And agree, the Persian CZ mausers, are one of the best military mausers ever made. As well made as our 1909 Mausers but with somewhat better metallurgy...

Nice rifle, great calibre!

Nice find! Brno 600's are well made rifles. We don't see many in 9.3x62 down here in NZ. I use to have one in 7x57 and really liked how it handled.

That is a very desirable rifle there! Great caliber, great rifle and the rarely seen pop up peep sight to boot! BRNO rifles usually shoot very well. I wish I had that rifle and you had a feather up your bum, we would both be tickled!!!:D:D:D:rolleyes::rolleyes::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

That is a very nice rifle and a good pick up.

Congrats and hope you enjoy it!

Hello,

Am I reading your post correctly to say that the Tsavo rifle will be coming out with a composite stock later this year? I ask because I had been looking very hard for a Tsavo, but if there is going to be a composite stock model I will wait for that.

Thank you for your time,

Andrew

Saw your post. Nice. Denver too. Genesee area (just off 70) if ever up this way. Alternatively, do you have a membership at GGC? Whatever, you'll have a wonderful time in Africa. Enjoy.
