Favorite Buffalo gun and cartridge?

CZ 550's or better yet the old Brno 602, and of course old Mauser's seem to be the prefered bolt guns for PH's. I doubt they are all that much different than a Ruger RSM or Winchester M70 in reliability and practical function. But rather i suspect price and availability had a lot to with their popularity.

Then there is the concept that a Double is the best choice for DG but if you have a bolt gun, it must hold at least 5 down

if 3 down doesn't do it, you might well be dead by then.

I do get some chuckles here like one guy who said that ,"the 375 is fine for dangerous game like elephants if you're only gonna shoot a few, if you're gonna shoot more, get something bigger".

I bet I read hat 50 times before I figured out he was serious.
