Elephant & Lion Imports Resume!

That’s what I keep hearing from several members Ed.
At Johnnyblues- I saw your video with Marius the other day on youtube. Gives me a little perspective on the Val Rhebuck hunting. Great video and nice hunt.

I would like to know more about Hunters International, it sounds like a few of the members have had positive dealings with them! Anything that we can do to help our clients I want to know about!

Lon,
Hunters can apply for import permits on their own or with the help of businesses such as Hunters International or non-profit organizations like Conservation Force with information provided by PHs, operators and the Zimbabwe government to be approved on a case by case basis. It is important that you help gather population and conservation data for your concessions so it can be included with the application.

@3S Safaris

This is my uneducated guess: I do not think captive reared SA lions will be importable to the US again unless we get multiple, successful reintroductions with captive reared lions into the wild. If that were to happen regularly, I think it would help because it would be hard to refute that they are used for conservation. That being said, from what I hear it is not always practical and possible....challenges: captive reared lions have little fear of humans...also, many places without lions would like to stay that way....among many others I imagine.

It is a shame, however. I wish they were still importable. I got one three days before the ban went into effect and got lucky.

This is my first try with them but they came highly recommended by fellow member @LivingTheDream. So far they have responded promptly and courteously to my inquires.

I have been really happy with Hunters International. Really great communication and very professional, not the cheapest but no where near as expensive as others. I shot my lioness pre import ban, and they were able to get it into the country post ban. I know they were grandfather in, but I was nervous until it was sitting in my house. The whole process was extremely smooth. Definitely recommend.

Howdy stranger. Glad to see ya here.

What's the different between Hunters International and Safari Specialty Importers

I was thinking more in terms of service
I am not quite sure on that. Obviously they do the same job but in terms of their ability when a problem if one occurs I am not sure. SSI has always run on their reputation of being able to solve problems but again I am not sure if one is going to a locale such as Namibia if that would be needed.

I know that SSI had a bunch of hunting icons vouch for then like Carter and Shokey

I'm unfortunately on a diet. Presently in VA hospital as Agent Orange finally caught up with me. Cancer and I no longer can speak. If all goes well I'll be out of here and back home in Thailand by end of July. Tough road but I'm a tough old guy. I'll make it that hunt.

Nice one there. I guided for mulies and elk for about 10 or so years in northern New Mexico.

Business is the only way to fly. I'm headed to SA August 25. I'm hoping that business isn't an arm and a leg. If you don't mind, what airline and the cost for your trip. Mine will be convoluted. I'll be flying into the states to pick up my 416 Rigby as Thailand doesn't allow firearms (pay no attention to the daily shootings and killings) so I'll have 2 very long trips.
