Based off a Chapuis e-mail found online they recommend not using snap caps in their double rifles. Dry firing is recommended. Can anyone confirm they read this the same way. AI research also confirmed no snap caps.

ChatGPT response

Perplexity said the Elan / Iphisi were to be fired without. Weird the difference.

Perplexity pulled the e-mail off AH and used the Chapuis site. I am not convinced its ok so dry fire the Iphisi.

Look up tom Leoni on this site and ask him directly, he will know the definitive answer

After a deep dive I believe the Agex action requires snap caps.

Can confirm as that email was written to me.

No idea about other chapuis - mine was bought used and I cant see any markings about model apart from 'progress' on the foreend

My enquiry added for context:

I truly appreciate your response on this. I spoke with the Beretta gallery today and they are under the impression no snap caps on the Agex action (Elan and Iphisi).

Youve fu**ed it, only thing to do is bring it to zambia and leave it with me to use as a boat paddle now.
:A Stirring: :ROFLMAO:

A boat paddle it will need to be as I am sure @spike.t has not fixed that boat engine yet! I am making a plan to get over shortly.

I talk to JJ and he said that there are absolutely no problems dry firing the Chapuis with quality aluminum snap caps from places like NECG!

Jerome, do you think my last post in rough camping must maybe shift as an article?

Good afternoon,

I'm trying to get in contact with Mr Butch Searcy. I have the opportunity to buy one of his rifles chambered in 577 nitro Express however the seller does not have any of the paperwork with the information about what ammunition or bullet weight was used to regulate it. I know he is not making firearms anymore but I wanted to reach out after seeing one of your post about him.

Hi - the only (best) method of sending you the .375/06IMP data is with photographing my book notes. My camera died so the only way I can do it is with my phone. To do that, I would need your e-mail address, as this
new Android phone is too complicated to upload to my desk computer, which would be easier and to down-grade, reduce the file sizes.
Best wishes
Daryl
