Does RSA have a minimum caliber for PG ? These .223 & 6mm test are infuriating

I had a coworker show up to a hog hunt with a .223 and Hornady V-Max ammo, after shooting his first hog 6 times in the chest and having to use his 40 S&W to finish the job he was very dissapointed. The next day I loaned him my back-up .270 using 140 grain Accubonds and all his problems vanished. If the .223 was such a effective hunting round why did they develope the 300 Blackout and the 6.8 SPC?
Having a hunter colleague shoot any animal 6 times , would just piss me off.

Those two ZZ Top bearded fools told me they have killed over 400 elk with .223 77gr TMK @ 400-600 yards and considered 6mm as a large over kill if you follow their instructions on their podcast and buy their ammo! ( I swallowed their bait for a argument and then the FUDD bashing went ballistic)
I looked today and they deleted the transcripts, cowards, and a embarrassing bunch of freaks pushing their false narratives on ethical hunting
With a brainwashed following !
This is a old video of one of their test , pathetic imo
Well, I guess I need to get out more to look around on the internet.
I never expected to find such unethical hunting by adults.

My grandfather wore Woolrich all wool trousers, shirts, overcoat and hat. Most of it was black and red checkerboard pattern and he always came home with venison.

It kind of tickles me to see guys out deer hunting while wearing full camo, and a blaze orange vest.

Alberta changed regulations this year so 22 cal centerfire and larger are legal for big game. Was 24 cal and larger until last year.
I believe a heavy for caliber 22 cal will kill a small deer effectively, but I see little advantage to the change. I sold my 243 and am starting my sons off with a a 6.5 CM as their beginner hunting caliber. Far more versatile IMO
Pennsylvania used to have a .243 minimum. Now it's any centerfire.

I see that here too when big game hunting. Ridiculous!

When it became law to wear the blaze orange, he did. But it was only the minimum and he wore it on his head. I guess hoping it wouldn't get shot off! LOL

That’s to get the AR tacticools to buy a deer tag and hunt with their 5.56s. About seven years ago, Colorado considered RAISING the .243 minimum to .277 for big game but never did. They’ll probably succumb to ANY centerfire for deer and pronghorn eventually to bring in more revenue I suspect.

Buddy I have seen a guy hunting with a ar copy of a ar one of the blow back little ar look alike form the late 70s early 80s. In of all things 32 acp. I saw the rifles made in 25acp and 32 acp.
Fl has dropped the black powder down to .30 cal.
When I called and ask why they said the new air rifle limit was 30 so the bp should be to.
When I ask if they knew the 32 and 36 Bp was conciderd a squirrel rifle and less powerful than a 380. they told me no they had know idea.
But the 380 would be legal for deer .

I grew up in California. Blaze orange was not required. California also had the best safety rating of any state. We tended to think of anyone wearing bright colors as being inexperienced or foolish. We called them "red hats" or "shoe clerks." It seemed strange to have to wear it when we hunted in states that required it, but of course we did. We never did wear camo to hunt deer or pronghorns. Thirty years ago I moved to Washington. I have to wear blaze orange here, but I still don't wear camo with it.

Yeah, out of the bathroom window and in the head, at 10yds. I personally know people who have shot yard deer in the head with a 22lr. But, that's not hunting, that's just putting meat in the freezer.
My grandfather used to talk about killing deer with a .22lr. It wss during the depreciation and he needed to feed his family. He couldn't afford .30-30 shells and used what he had. He didn't care for the practice and said the .30-30 was much better.

As the title implies I am totally flabbergasted by those guys promoting that hunting in Africa doesn’t require what most would consider normal hunting caliber and bonded & or mono bullet.
They are using 6mm match bullets for larger Pg ( like kudu , waterbuck , eland , giraffes) and .223 with match grade on every thing else:(
Scenario is in a small escape proof enclosure, shoot them then watch them run around for a minute or so
Then later do a necropsy on penetration and damage, and then discuss the merits of using small caliber
On all North American game , like elk , bear , moose , and now they have proof that it’s good enough for an African safari!
Well I was infuriated and confronted the podcast host and confirmed they where on safari on a small property in RSA to make video proof content , they and their audience really raked me over the coals and
Ridiculed me and any other opposing views as F ing fudd’s , and fools for not excepting the proof.
I am really disappointed that hunters are shooting small caliber bullets and watching game m running around mortally injured, have we really reached that point of degradation?

Fudds have been putting game down before the long-range creedmor boys were even a dirty thought.

And fudds did it with cup and core bullets with dim scopes or irons.

Nothing wrong with that.

I get the initial intention of this thread, but it's basically devolved into half the crowd bragging about how awesome and ethical they are and the other half whining about what other grown men wear when hunting.
Yeah like any other internet discussion the vortex starts and the topic goes astray
That’s how this whole thing with me went down the toilet,
I initially went into the discussion to ask about sighting in a gifted 6.5cm for MPI with out using a dial up scope, and next thing I knew they where baiting my temper
Calling me an old out dated Fudd for using a non dial up scope and limiting my shots to maximum 350-400 yards , then the next thing was no one needs anything more then a .223 with 77gr TMK or ELDM for every large game animal in the world. Except elephants because everyone knows a thousand where killed with a 7x57 back in the days of elephant ( true part of the discussion/ dumpster fire)
I made the mistake of saying that wouldn’t fly on African game , they countered with they had been to Africa and killed a list of large animals in a controlled environment,
I thought it was unethical and unrealistic to promote such activity even in a small pen setting, you see the verity of Topics then pile on baited insults, the huge cult of believers dog piling into the podcast
Internet discussions always seem to zig zag over multiple topics and some topics bring out the worst in the fanatical fandom and hopefully you see my point
Ask a question and next thing a dumpster fire is blazing on three other topics
Lesson learned either I am a “ old Fudd “ or they are fanatical fools/tools.

Now let’s get back to our unscheduled discussion about hunting costumes

And you're better than any of them, right?
