This beautiful copy of a Sharps 45-70 has seen extensive work by a competent gunsmith.
The normally 28-inch barrel has been cut to 24 and half-rounded from the muzzle to the tip of the fore end, cutting more than a pound of weight off the rifle. It is also equipped with a Vernier sight on the tang and a color case-hardened receiver. I have personally taken this rifle to the range and it shoots quite well. The double-set trigger is extremely light.
