Ok fellas here’s the deal, I just bought a Dakota 76 in 338WM from an estate sale. I haven’t handled it (or any other Dakota for that matter) but have pictures. I’ve read quite a few reviews on it including here but really don’t know much about them. Needless to say I’m pretty excited, any thoughts on this rifle? Thank you for any insight gentlemen.

The Dakota 76 was (and still is under the new name of Parkwest) one of the best semi-custom rifles out there. Ya done good!

Now it’s time to expand your hunting horizons with an African safari. You’ve already bought a perfect plains game gun!

Very Nice :D Beers:

Yessir I’m headed to the Selous this summer for my first safari and thank you

That’s a perfect rifle for PG and anything in the States or Canada. Find a load it likes…anything under 1” at 100 is perfectly acceptable and practice from field positions and on the sticks. Nice catch. My Dakota 416 Rigby is one of my favorite rifles…beautiful, well made and accurate.

Atta boy Killo, nice looking cannon man! Cheers

I don’t have any Barnes but I have 250gr Woodleighs, 225gr accubonds, 225gr AFrames ready to load up and some 250gr North Forks on order
