I had this rifle custom built in 2012 as a backup firearm for a Tanzanian safari in 2013. It’s built on a Montana Rifle Company model 1999 action. The barrel is a hand-lapped McGown in a #5 contour. The fixed sights are by Williams. The Zeiss Conquest 3.5-10x50mm scope sits in aligned and lapped Talley QD rings on top of Talley bases. All blued metalwork (including rings and bases) was polished and blued as a single lot to insure that they match. The stock is a Bell & Carlson Medalist with a full length aluminum bedding block.

It has never fired factory loaded ammunition. Barrel break in and brass fire-forming was done using minimum charge loads following the Shilen recommended method. The brass was then used for load development and hunting ammunition. The rifle has only been used to shoot animals for leopard bait in Tanzania and for two white tails in Wisconsin.

The entire firearm and bore is in very good condition. The scope rings were aligned and hand lapped prior to bluing and installing the scope. The scope is still perfectly clear. Everything has been stored in a dehumidified vault since purchase.

I retired several years ago and since that time, I have confined my hunting to North America. I no longer have use for this rifle, so I am selling it, reloading dies and reloading supplies listed below. I prefer to sell them as a combined lot to make things easy to sell and to make it easy for someone who wants everything needed to hand load and hunt.

Package price $2,750 + shipping & FFL transfer. No sales to California or outside of the US.

INCLUDED:
Scoped, custom .375 H&H as described above
Beartooth neoprene butt stock cartridge holder
Scopecoat scope cover
2 Unopened boxes of Hornady unprimed brass (100 pieces)
Redding #84169 full length die set
40 pcs Barnes 270 grain TSX bullets
44 pcs Hornady 300 grain Interlock Round Nose bullets
30 pcs Barnes 300 grain TSX bullets
40 pcs Nosler 260 grain Partition bullets

Thanks for looking

PS: You may have seen that I recently sold a Ruger RSM in .416 Rigby. I waited to assemble this offer until the Ruger was shipped because I wanted to do a proper job of selling, packaging and shipping without the distraction of doing 2 rifles at the same time.

Very nice. The gun without scope and loading components would be worth that price. Helluva scope too. Maybe more than I'd want for shooting a 375 but it sure would sit on my 03A3 Springfield nicely. This shouldn't last long.

thanks for your reply bob , is it feasible to build a 444 on a P14/M17 , or is the no4 enfield easier to build? i know where i can buy a lothar walther barrel in 44, 1-38 twist , but i think with a barrel crown of .650" the profile is too light .
