Crop raid hippo hunt

Your timing might be off March/April is still very green and normally hippos would not need to raid or make plans to raid crops.
I do know however that in RSA there is farmers who are farming next to rivers who have farms next to the rivers where hippos raid at a more regular rate.
So you might get lucky there but permits don't get given out for long periods or long periods before. It is more of an opportunity when you are here on the ground.

What other game are you interested in? That would also help with the area and combination you are after.
Mozambique would be out as their season isnt open yet and most areas will be inaccesable.

If you hunt a hippo in Zimbabwe, make sure you do so in terms of a HUNTING permit. It can be a crop raider/ problem animal but do not hunt on a Problem animal control permit. It would be illegal, only Zim citizens are supposed to hunt on those permits. Most communal areas will have a hunting permits and crop raiders so you can help them out while hunting. Just dont get caught out by unscrupulous crooks who sell you a Problem animal control permit !

Problem with hippo night hunts is that they are done with thermal scopes (I was sent a video), and there is little definition, so you really don´t know what kind of trophy you are getting.

I will be in Mpumalanga in 8 weeks, mostly for night hunting (hyaena, bushpig...), and my hunting partner is going after a croc.

Might hunt a hippo if a good opportunity arises.

Good morning. I see that you had a Sauer 202 for sale for $3,000. Did you sell it at that price?
I have one for sale as well. I listed it (on here ) at $3,000 as well. Is the price high, low or right where it should be?

Thanks. Alex. 956 206 4444 in case you want to call me to discuss further. I appreciate your time help and support.

Dave, I could use both of them if still available. I just picked up a new .22 mag and a .22 pump that they would be perfect on.
