Covid test and Qatar

Does anyone have current info regarding the need for a covid test if one is transiting through Qatar. I fly Qatar airlines from JNB-DOH-BNE in the 26th.

Not sure if you consider August to be recent but I flew on QA and no test was required by Qatar if you stay inside the airport unless your departure or final destination country requires a test. QA website currently states this as well.

Can back up @Scott CWO ‘a statement… I transited Doha twice in late July… no covid test required…

They were still stating they wanted you to wear a mask in the airport…but no one was enforcing it.. and probably 50% of the people walking around were not wearing them…

I flew as recent as last August 28. They did not ask for it. Check the airline web site to be sure.

Thanks for the replies. I took a look and it mainly speaks about entry into Qatar and not so much about in transit arrivals. But I have the answers I need.

Nothing is required in Doha if you are in transit.

This may I will flying Doha > WDH to Using Qatar. So simple there.

My brother in law is also on Qatar flights a few days later but have him Doha > Joburg(5 hour layover) > then WDH

So will he have requirements in Doha? What is the current situation needed for layover in Joburg?

I just got back from a trip to Uganda. We flew from Houston to Entebbe and back, albeit through Atlanta, but that's another story. No one from QA asked anything about Covid. And yes as stop in Doha happened both on outbound and inbound.

There are virtually no covid requirements anywhere now or wont be by next year. Doha never had any for in transit passengers. Qatar does have a web tool that allows you to search entry requirements:

The long and short of my experience: Arrived at ORT to be told that you had to have a mask to board and wear on the plane....GRRRR!!! (i WENT THROUGH THE ENTIRE COVID PERIOD WITHOUT EVER BUYING A MASK!!). Had to buy a mask air side and they only sold packs of 10. GRRRR!!! Got to the gate and they were handing out free masks. WTF GRRRR!!! Then the masks could be removed once on the plane. So the whole mask thing was to walk from the gate to your seat!

No masks required in Doha airport.

The final kick in the gonads was the fact that it was the last day that masks where required. Flew out of Doha to Brisbane 21h15 that night and nobody even asked for a mask.

So if anyone has an idea what I can do with 9 brand new masks and one used for only an hour...
