Classic Cartridge ideas for a 1909 Argentinian build

that is good news about eddystones.
my old whelen was an eddystone, and it did not let go.

My 25 is an Eddystone so is my Whelen AI both slick and smooth as well as accurate. The Whelen AI has a Boyd pepper laminate stock and the floor plate was straightened out to get rid of the guppy belly. The action was also lightened to the Remington 30s profile.

Opt for building your rifle to be chambered , either in :

> 8x57 mm Mauser
Or
> 9.3 x 62 mm Mauser
Or
> 10.75x68 mm Mauser
All of these are classic cartridges
Alternatively , you could try
> .30-06 Springfield
> .338 Winchester magnum

Personally , I would opt for the 9.3x62 mm Mauser calibre if I were you .

To stay in german calibers : 8x64S (0.324) Brenneke (1912)

thanks for your reply bob , is it feasible to build a 444 on a P14/M17 , or is the no4 enfield easier to build? i know where i can buy a lothar walther barrel in 44, 1-38 twist , but i think with a barrel crown of .650" the profile is too light .
