Black nitride 100% rusts. You need to bring your black nitride rifle for a trip to the tropics. Black nitride is better than blueing but still rusts.

Roguard/NP3 was great. We test them all out in the salt water. Unfortunately it is no longer available on firearms. I think Barkman got tired of the continual BATF nonsense.

Most of my hunting is around salt water and nitride is the best thing going for rust protection that I have seen. It can get some very light surface rust that easily wipes off with oil rag. No pitting like steel or stainless.
